Lay-Z-Livin Condo, Anna Maria

We stayed in unit #4. The pictures listed are a different unit. The complex of 4 buildings is a short walk to the beach and is located in a residential area. The buildings are dated and the handmade lay z liv n signs make it look like might have been a really nice place in the 1960's. Especially since its surrounded by new/newer buildings. The pool is nice and big. We stayed in unit #2 which was ok, but the shower/bathroom was really old and is in need of updating. The caulking was moldy in the shower and it was just not well cared for, even for a rental. The unit rentals are handled by Wagner Realty, which, I guess were friendly enough, however when we stayed there was a half a roll of toilet paper, a half a roll of paper towels, no dish soap, hand soap etc. You are expected to wash the dished upon leaving, so why not have some dish soap? The biggest complaint is the long term renters/ other owners. One night I took my kids to the pool and brought a bottle of beer along. I sat on the side of the pool while my 5 and 9 year old swam, and one of the condo owners tore into me about having a glass bottle and demanded that I leave right away before I ruined the pool. She was very rude and confrontational. The next day several people who were either long term renters or other owners at the pool harassed my wife and kids verbally to the point that they left the pool after my 9 year old daughter asked why are these people being mean to us. The realty office person stated to me when I called her to complain about this that this particular owners association was VERY un family friendly and would never recommend anyone with kids stay there. Nice to know that after the fact. We really felt uncomfortable staying at this place, especially since it was about 90 degrees and my kids wanted to play at the pool pretty much non stop. We made the best of the situation and ignored the comments and dirty looks. FYI also supposed to be smoke free, yet everyone there chain smokes.
