Amzi Love Bed & Breakfast, Columbus

When my sister called to make a reservation for us, she asked the proprietor if she could come by to take a look at the rooms. Much to her dismay, she was questioned with "Why in the world would you want to do that? Do you do that with other hotels or B&B's? We're a 4 star-rated B&B!" Now, I'm sorry, but my family is from the South and that's just not a polite response. I don't know where the proprietors are from but I do know where we won't be staying during our visit.

The Tour of the Amzi Love Home is a trip back in time--Sid Caradine--dressed as his great-grandfather tells the story of his family. This home has been in his family since 1848 with the originqal furnishings. He is a great story teller and makes a tour group right at ease and is happy to answer any questions. We spent the night at his bed and breakfast and the food was delicious. Columbus, Mississippi is an historic town and the Welcome Center which is the first home of famous playwright, Tennessee Williams was full of information for the traveller (free coffee,too). We'll always remember our tour of the Amzi Love Home with Sid!!
