Hill's Cottages, Fish Creek

Well placed location but cottage was not clean and had ants everywhere. Owner lives 100 miles away so not in a position for immediate help. Not up to typical Door County Cottage standards. Would never stay there again.

We just returned from renting the Birch Chalet. It was very comfortable. There is a king memory foam mattress upstairs in a loft like bedroom, with a flat screened t.v and ceiling fan. The kitchen is equipped with utensils and a small table with a futon type sofa. Below in the basement is a queen sized bed with another sofa futon sleeper. There is a nice gazebo out front and a firepit, and grill. The grounds were clean and nice, there wasn't debris around. Yes, there were mosquitos outside, but anywhere you go in Door Co. on a hot summer day, there are mosquitos. I brought a Cutter candle and sat outside at night with a fire going and never got bit. I also used my favorite Skin so Soft by Avon. I would definitely rent again. You can see the water from the master loft. You can walk to the town, it's very close to everything, like two blocks up the hill.

My only complaint is that we had to wade through waist-high weeds to get to our cabin. All of the tall weeds made everything look unkept and I think that is why the mosquitoes were so bad. There was an annoying stagnant water smell outside too. Our place was cute inside but I would probably not go back.
