The campground is located adjacent (meaning a chan link fence gate) to an upcoming, privately owned animal exhibit which includes a full grown tiger, several grizzley bears, and foxes. You can smell the foxes (skunk-y smell) from the campground and I'm a little concerned about the proximity and security of the larger animals' habitats.
The grounds are well-maintained and the owner is super nice. The bathroom/showerhouse isn't fancy but it serves it's purpose as most campground bathrooms do.
The campsite offers scenic views and up close view of Cass railroad and is a very peaceful setting.
There were problems with the electric hook-up (=2 days without power at our site), which wasn't a great inconvenience but I think a partial refund should have been offered if paying $30/night.
There is NO cell phone service and no pay phone (which is to be expected but just so others are aware)
So, recap...some of our pary LOVED the place and said it was their favorite campground of the trip. Others (those with small children) were a little freaked about the exotic animal neighbors the owners don't tell you about until you ask...makes tent camping a somewhat scary experience.
You be the judge.
We have camped at this camp ground several times, We love it, the owner is very friendly and helpful, Its peacful and beautiful, we will continue to camp there for years to come. If you want a relaxing place to camp this is the place for you.

If you're looking for a 4 star resort with millions of amentities this probably isn't the campground for you...
But if you're looking for a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing piece of heaven it is for you!
This is a campground made out of an old cow pasture but has a backwoods country charm and a wonderfully nice man who runs the show.
The campground does have water, electricity, a dump station, bath house, free firewood, a zoo, a close view of the Shay engines pulling the trains up the Cass Scenic Railway. How could you go wrong?
We have been back time and time again! You should try it out!
