Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa, Orlando

'Regardless of a hotel's star rating, you should expect a clean, private room that comes with housekeeping services', per Hotwire website. We booked a four star hotel. In actuality, we received a dirty room with no housekeeping services without an additional fee of $40 a day. All of the lamps didn't work in the bedroom or the living room. The lamps were not broken, the on/off switch was simply missing from all of the lamps. The couch and arm chairs were so incredibly soiled and full of various stains. Coffee table was broken. The sheets do not fit the bed and when stretched, barely go 2 inches over the end of the mattress only to be pulled off as soon as you sit on the bed. The carpets were dirty. The TV was old and broken and not a flatscreen as shown on the website. The hotel staff told us we needed to leave a deposit and at the end of the visit we would get our deposit back. This was so he would receive no argument from us as we forked over an additional $42 in order to get our room key for a room we already paid for on Hotwire. Of course, no surprise, when we checked out we were denied our money back and were explained that we were instead charged a resort fee and not a refundable deposit as was promised by the front desk upon arrival. Wireless internet was not available. Housekeeping services were an additional $40. What was the resort fee for? A resort fee was not disclosed by Hotwire when booking this hotel. This certainly was not a FOUR star hotel in any circumstance.

I loved the spaciousness and the high ceilings--plenty of room to relax. I never had to call the front desk for anything!! The only complaint I had was with the drapery in the bedroom (or lack thereof). I like a dark room and privacy, the valance did not provide this at all. Otherwise it was awesome!!

The property is very pretty, clean and well maintained. The pool is the best part - it's very large, clean and fun for kids with the giant pirate ship and slide. It's convenient to get to Disney and Sea World. The rooms are spacious and clean. The only problem will come if you actually need anything from the staff. The check-in clerk was rude and asked us to wait an hour past check-in time because the room was not ready yet. With traveling all day and small kids you cannot ask someone to wait past check-in time! She would not give us another room so we had to ask for a manager who finally gave us another room but was not friendly about it. No one who works here who we encountered through our stay smiled or was friendly. We accidentally left an item in the room after we left and it took about 10 calls to the hotel to finally reach someone that could check lost & found. He also was reluctant to help and the matter was never resolved. The place is great but I wouldn't stay here just for the fact that you will not get good service.

My family and I just returned from our vacation this morning and I have to say the best part, even better then Disney! was the hotel! we had the 2bd suite. It has everything from dishes, silverwear, even baking pans, washer/dryer, and the rooms were clean!! It was so relaxing and the pool was absolutly beautiful. Our kids loved it there. Next time we all decided to skip out on (overpriced) Disney (not fun with very young children,btw) and just stay at this hotel. We had such a blast at the pool and the game room. Only thing, which is more of a preference... the bedrooms need drapes or something. When your at disney all day you want to be able to sleep in the next day. well when the sun is up at 7am, so are the kids. LOL.. but overall, what a awesome hotel!!! we will be back!!

Im not sure HOW or WHY there anything but positive reviews about this resort on here! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, The room was clean, roomy, and very homey feeling. The location is perfect for Orlando's parks, without feeling crowded. They have an amazing Pirate ship pool which the kids loved, AND a regular pool which was nice and relaxing for the adults. The front desk staff is what made the vacation, though. I felt like I had been friendly with them for the longest time, while still keeping that professional level. I had a large party and will most definitley be visiting this place again.

I am in the army, and our schedule changes alot. Ok, I made a reserv. of $834 in May for one date, six (6) days, for block leave in late June. I had to change because our dates for leave changed 3 times. Understandable? Yes. Ok I got my leave dates finalized and changed the reserv. by one day and they upped the price because of the 4th july. Understandable. Got down to the hotel and they totally deleted the first price of and tried to charge me $1065. I got on the phone and got my price back down to $834. I had to threaten with the BBB and Military BBB. Then found out that they only run shuttles 8:15am and 11:15am to park and return 6:15 and 10:15 pm return. What kind of BS is that, especially if you have kids?

I have stayed at this hotel once before and it was great!, so I decided that I would take my family there for Father's Day weekend. We checked in Friday evening only to be awakened by bugs biting us in the bed. YES! This brand new hotel had bugs in the bed! I called the front desk immediately. They said we will change you to a different room. I said fine but it would have to be after I get back from the park. I was not about to move everything and everyone at 6AM in the morning. So I went ahead and enjoyed my day at disney and came back to change my room. Well I was downgraded to a 2BR from a 3. I was told that if I did it in the morning I wouldn't have been downgraded. I argued that point cause they should have had one reserved for me being that I called at 6AM in the morning. I took the 2br and when i checked out the next morning they would not work with me on the charge of staying in a 3BR with bed bugs! I was told by the manager with an attitude that I would receive a call in 2 days. It has now been 3 days and no call yet. I even left a message a few hours ago. While this hotel may be beautiful and spacious, their management is what will ruin them. This manager had a really bad demeanor and was not helpful in ANY way. This lady looked at me as if I was lying to her. Why would I go through trouble of moving my family into a smaller room if I was lying? All I can say is if you stay here, please check your bed prior to sleeping in it.

We Rented a 2 bedroom unit for one night at this place before checking in to our time-share. When we got our Visa bill they charged us an extra $104.00 , call and PATTI said it was because of late checkout, I admit househeeping came to the door and had to wait about 10 minutes. She tried to tell me they couldn't rent the unit then tried to convince me they had to pay the staff overtime. There was no backing down "that is our Policy " she kept saying. Renter Beware!
