This is the best place to stay for a motorcyclist that is here for the best motorcycle roads in the USA! The owners, John and Charlene Powell, have put everything into this place. They put their names and pictures on their internet site--WHO ELSE DOES THAT? They had a booth at the International Motorcycle Show in Charlotte! These are friendly people that love motorcycles. It has many cabins in different price ranges. There is a bunkhouse in case you just want to go cheap. They have tents already set up, and you get fresh sheets to go with them, or bring your own tent and pay $15! And clean showers, a huge entertainment center larger than most nightclubs with giant TV projected screen, pool table, laptop so you can check your stuff, a living room separate with a normal wide screen TV, covered parking for the first 20 bikes or so, breakfast and dinner that are awesome, and a great covered porch with many rockers, next to the giant firepit, where you can hang out and visit as much as you like. And it's right next to the dragon. Right on 28, which is the best motorcycle road in both directions. This is the HUB for the best motorcycling, as seen in all the mentions in magazines and forums. Don't stay in a hotel when you can pay less to be at the best motorcycle resort!
The Ironhorse Campground is amazing! The accommodations were very affordable starting with a "rent a tent" to cabins with a jacuzzi. The dinners (prime rib & pot roast) were delicious! The local roads were wonderful to ride but sitting by the creek in a swing was just as enjoyable. What made this place exceptional was the owners & staff. We had 3 bikes breakdown in our group and the owners/staff went over and above to help us get bike service. As a group we enjoyed the theater area which was a nice private place to gather at the end of the day to share ride memories & have a good time. We will be back and hopefully it will be sooner than later.
We have stayed here 4 times and always look forward to returning. We have stayed in the cabins and have always found them to be very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners on the weekends are delicious and just what we needed after a day of riding. It is in a dry county so it is BYOB. We love how quiet it is at night and enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs by the campfire and getting to know everyone. We have found everyone to be very friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to many more visits.
Owners & staff really show concern for their guests' experience...We were there in our motorhome; however, members of our group, North Georgia Mountain Riders, stayed in the lodge & cabins & spoke well of the accommodations...The prime rib dinner on Saturday nights is popular for good reason!...If you're a motorcycle enthusiast - this is your place.
