okay but not great

I hated the valet parking. You have to pull up on side of the sidewalk and get all your luggage out at once, then they take your car, and you are not allowed to go to it. You have to call for your car when you need it and they bring it up to the sidewalk for you, it feels rushed and stressful, like you have to hurry and get out of your car or get in your car, and get out of the way. They only have enough space for 2 or 3 cars to pull up. The staff was very friendly. This is a beautiful place if you like history, and a wonderful romantic place for couples. But as a single mother, I didn't feel it was a place for me and my kids, but more for newlyweds. Tybee Island was nice, not too crowded, and only about 20 minutes from downtown savannah. If I had it to do over again, I would get a room right outside of town, somewhere with parking so I could have access to my car. Staybridge suites, was okay, but alot smaller than I expected. Very crunched for 3 people. It looked very clean, but I seen small items in the floor next to the cabinets left behind by other guests, such as hairbows, razor covers, etc. which tells me they didn't do a very good job on the floors. Also the toilet looked clean, but you could feel the grime and stickyness if you rubbed your hand across it, like stuck on hairspray or something. I was not impressed with the cleaning that had been done. The wireless internet was awful. It took forever to log on and it kept knocking me off. I don't usually complain, but I definatly won't go back, the ONLY thing I liked about this stay was the friendlyness of the staff, and they did have a good breakfast. Another thing I was not told, is that my credit card was charged $12 a day for the valet parking. And I didn't choose valet parking, you just have to do it, because that's the only way, there is NO parking whatsoever.
