Great location, but could use some improvements
We arrived in Old Orchard Beach at 7:30 PM on a Saturday, looking for a last minute room, hoping to find a room that was on the ocean, but we were told by the office clerk none available, which is understandable, but considering the closeness of the ocean, we chose to stay there.
After negotiating a very narrow parking space in an almost full lot with sharp corners & metal poles with our vehicle, we found a room for $140 on the 1st floor for 2 persons for 1 night. The parking space was included in the price of the room, and the clerk strongly suggested we place the hotel tag on our vehicle to avoid being towed, as it appears they sometimes had a problem.
After being on the road for a few hours, we were glad to get out & check the room, before seeing the sights, however we were a surprised by the condition of the room. Upon entering, we noticed a sizeable stain directly in front of the door in the bathroom - about 5" in diameter, a result of a burn to the linoleum.
When entering the bathroom, we noticed hair on the towels (which were on the small side, and very thin & scratchy) & more stains on the toilet seat.
Also, when putting away our belongings, we noticed a pile of dirt & trash on the floor right beside the fridge.
One nice feature of the rooms for those that use the Keurig coffee makers: the rooms are equipped with a maker, so simply bring your fave coffee & a cup.
The room also included a mini dorm fridge, but the freezer didn't seem to work, so our ice packs were of no use to us the next day.
As mentioned in the title, the location of the hotel is great, right on Old Orchard Beach (End of Harrisburg Street off of E Grand Ave), and walking distance to the Palace Playground & The Pier.
