Via Bayou Rv Park, Dickinson

The park is somewhat nice. The trash needs to be picked up and there are piles of debris around the clubhouse. The flower beds are neglected although they do keep it mowed. Some of the lots flood really bad during the winter season. The docks have been damaged by the storm and one is just badly neglected. There are electric cords strung out everywhere on the dock making it very dangerous to walk around. The building itself needs cleaning, especially the cobwebs around the windows. The building too could use some fresh paint. The main entrance is hard to find. The roads are really torn up with pot holes. They advertise WI-Fi but it's impossible to get a signal.

This park is a very nice, better class RV park. However, the major drawback is no WiFi, cable or phone hookup. These three things are very important to today's travelers and vacationers. The cost is not a great savings considering there are other RV parks in the area with these three amenities and have all but the "water" view - ie, concrete pads, streets, plus a swimming pool/hot tub, etc. Maybe someday this park will enter the 21st century without upping the price to badly.

We have spent 60 days, (December 2007 and February 2008), at this park. The weather was great, the park fantastic, concrete pads with palm trees on the water. Glorious! The folks who run it, Jim and Kelli, are so helpful and very nice people! The people we met there were just good old down to earth folks. Downside, no cable and almost impossible to find until you stay once and then no problem at all. Near Kemah with the Boardwalk, all the attractions and fantastic seafood restaurants. We did gain a little weight, but that was our fault! We can't resist great seafood! We would recommend this place to anyone, and we will be returning every winter for certain. Definitely a 5 star resort and they continue to improve it!
