Bed Bugs at West End Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/11
I stayed here for a couple weeks recently, and had a decent experience. That is until the cleaning lady changed my sheets one day, and the bed bugs must have hitched a ride in to my room that way. I started to get bites all over my body, and at first thought it was mosquitos. Once I confronted the Manager they admitted they have bed bug problems. I was offered a simple "sorry," and here is your $35 deposit back... They did however express concern about this information getting out and giving them a hard time to rent rooms. What a nightmare.

BED BUGS!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/11
Great location, next to revitalized city center, and pretty cheap. What they do not tell you is that you will be eaten alive by bed bugs! I got attacked all over my body. When I asked Kam and Andrew about it, they expressed more concern about this information getting out since they "have 48 rooms to fill in this place." Andrew insisted that he was shocked to hear the news since they have never had bed bugs in that particular room - unbelievable. Actually the bed bugs attacked me the night the maid changed the sheets. I was offered another room, and obviously declined the offer and was offered a simple "sorry," and a "here is your $35 deposit back." What a nightmare.

Read ALL of the reviews; Not recommended..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/11
Before you decide to stay here, you may want to consider what it would be like to have Kam or crew (Andrew or Victoria) go through your room when you are not there. Especially Kam if you are a female based of my knowledge of him going through a girl's room on multiple occasions when she wasn't there; (I will use the name Jennifer to protect the innocent) Just down the hall from me on the third floor. TRUE STORY....

The West End Hotel, nice rooms, nice people
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/11
I recently sold my house and took a huge loss. I needed to rent an apartment, which I discovered was not easy. I needed a place to stay and good fortune led me to the West End Hotel in Calif. I checked it out on this page and was not happy with the comments I saw there. Having dealt with the public for many years I knew that problems can arise with different personalities. At any rate I took the plunge. I would recommend the West End Hotel. Nice rooms. Great Price and nice people.

Read the reviews on Yahoo Travel when deciding..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/17/11
I already stated the truth regarding the things that I was aware of taking place regarding tenure at this hotel. Do not stay there if you can avoid it at all. Theft is rampant and of course women have to beware of "Kam" He will go into your room when you are not there just to find out what you are up to on a personal level in order to "try" to get to know you better. I have seen him do it before with a girl that lived just down the hall from me. (Jennifer) is the name I will use to protect her privacy. Is that something you want? Privacy invaded? Read the reviews and see what I am talking about. Don't stay if you value your belongings or your privacy. All I can say about that.

women beware!
By Steve, 3/23/11
"Women Beware" the assistant manager to his mother Kam is the main one to watch out for. I noticed Kam likes to go into womens rooms when they are not there just to see what they are up to on a personal level. I personally seen him do this and when he comes out of the room and, I seen him come out, he gives you the impression as though she was in the room when she is not. Another thing to watch out for ladies is Kam will automatically not like you if you have a boyfriend. I noticed Kam is always on the lookout to try to pick up women even when you are not interested he will go into your room in order to see if he can gain some type of commonality with you or to make your life miserable because you are not intrested in him. LIke I said; Women Beware!

Single girls beware of West End Hotel!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/23/11
What I liked was the price and area. What I didn't like was the fact that the workers like to go into rooms when you are not there. Especially that guy named "kam" Women who want to check into the hotel need to be careful, especially if you are single. Kam as I have noticed in the past, likes to go into their rooms and see what they are up to on a personal level. After he leaves their room, he acts as though they are there when they are not just so not to raise suspicion about his intentions. He is always trying to pick-up the single women especially if they just give him a courteous smile. Kam thinks of them as his for some unknown reason and if you are a guy don't tell him you have an interest in any of the women that might be staying there. He will go into your room as I have seen him do with others and see what you are up to when you are not there. "Kam" is an amazing liar as well. I never seen anyone like him who can boldfacedly tell a lie and act so sincere about it as it is somehow the truth. everyone beware!!

Should be re-named "theft end hotel"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/1/11
I wish i would of read these reviews before staying here. I had an antique gold benrus watch (passed down from my father when my mother passed away), I had my passport stolen, I had over $200 stolen from the same drawer I kept the watch in. I even had my underarmor thermals stolen the day before I moved out. Every time I would bring up the thefts to "Kam" or "Sarah" or "the maid" they would just say "o.k." and "yeah right" Kam and the maid are the main ones to watch out for. Kam runs the place as though he is in charge of everyone that stays there. He takes it upon himself to make you feel like, you are his employee or something. As though he is in charge of some mass operation. I don't know how many times I had to laugh at him. He is quite rediculous if you ask me. If you have anything of value do not stay at the West End Hotel. I discontinued the maid service upon discovering thefts were taking place in hopes of limiting the possiblities of being robbed again and I found that the maid was trying to force her way into my room when I would answer the door. I told her she will not be cleaning my room ever again while I stayed there. I ended up calling the owner Marshall over these incidences and of course I filed police reports concerning the robberies. Unfortunately nothing ever was done at the hotel aside from the maid not trying to work herself into my room (when I was there anyway). The ones to watch out for are Kam, the maid, and Andrew. They work in tandem trying to convince you that nothing was stolen just misplaced. I think of them as the three stooges counting up the day's take when the day is done.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/24/10
not safe!!!!Would never want to stay there againThis place was terrible..Roaches everywhere..My husband and I stayed there several weeks,,,..Roaches everywhere, And the management VERY UNPROFESSIONAL..especially that person named kam really ...this is a really low class place in everyway..kam screaming obscenities at us and other people,in.rages.. ...and the maid service was lousy. someone said they sneak into the tenants rooms anytime they want...once we set a trap behind the door and when we came back some one had been in our room...and that wasnt the day the maid was supposed to clean...location is ok but THE PLACE IS creepy.....

We loved everything and everyone but the roaches!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/07
My wife and I stayed here for 4 months. We had a great experience. Nobody would walk into our room unless we told them to. The maid was spectacular and was very friendly and would help us in any way she could. The manager Kam never yelled any obscenities at us, in fact he would even come and knock on the door to tell us that our car was parked illegally for street cleaning day so that we would not get a ticket. He even held a package for two months after we had moved, and called to tell us when it arrived. If that is not great customer service, than I don't know what to tell ya. The prices are good and the location is wonderful. It is in beautiful Downtown Culver City, with many restaurants and shopping right nearby. The farmer's market is right down the street every Tuesday. I would stay here again if I needed a residential hotel.
