We stayed for 7 nights at the Shore Hotel and it was just awful !! Prior to booking we called hotel directly to find out more info since it was a new hotel...we asked if they had a restaurant and they said the restaurant was not opened yet but they did have 24 hour room service. Being there n business and working late we really didn't have time to go out so room service was important for us...so we booked the hotel for 7 nights and prepaid in advance. When we finally arrived the hotel late from NYC we checked in ad they told us there was no room service within the hotel but they would provide us with menus from neighborhood restaurants that we can order from which they would go and get or us. We were shocked that there was no room service when they specifically said there was. Anyway no one was there to bring our luggage to our room...we ended up lugging it to room ourselves!!! We then got some menus from hotel and placed an order with some Italian restaurant down the street which was too late to order from so we ended up ordering pizza slices that the hotel ordered for us and was hard and cold by the time we go !! Never did that again ...got our own food every night after that...also Internet connection was so slow like dial up and had to go on balcony for reception...the TV was fuzzy and blurry and they said cable company was supposed to get it fixed which never happened in the 7 days we were there ! Then they were trying to run our credit card everyday for $100 hold which was ridiculous since our room was already prepaid and there was no restaurant or any room service whatsoever... We complained to them and they stopped trying to charge our card...lousy service with no amenities !! Plus every time we went back to our room at the end of the day our room key didn't work so we had to go back down again for a new room key... so irritating !! Finally we checked out and had to
lug our own luggage down again !! You can get better service at a motel 8 !! Never again!!
This was my second stay, Love the location., spotless rooms, helpful staff. The beach is a two block walk. Main street is trendy with starbucks, restaurants, shops, bars, galleries, SM Museum. You're walking distance to Venice Beach/Rose Ave, and bit of a longer walk to SM Civic Center, Pier, Palisades Park, 3rd Street Promenade (the most fun night spot in LA). You can get here and enjoy a vacation without a car .
