Harbor Lights Motel, Capitola

I love Harbor Lights !!my family and I have been going here since I can remember ..Ilove Barbara , she always takes care of me my family and My friends !!i will continue going there every chance I get !! I love the views and the full kitchen ..you dont even have to leave your room

I SPOKE WITH FRONT DESK SHE WAS SOOOOO UNHELPFUL, SHE NEEDS TO GET A DIFFERENT JOB... I WOULD NOT DARE MAKE A RESERVATION, IT MAYBE A NICE PLACE BUT WHO WOULD KNOW!!!! IF YOU CAN'T EVEN TALK TO THE PERSON TO GET ANY INFO WHATSOEVER TO MAKE A RESERVATION WITHOUT BEING SOOOO FUSTRATED.. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE STAYING THERE... NO INFORMATION, COULD NOT EVEN GIVE ME WEBSITE ...ALL SHE SAID WAS CAN'T HELP YOU WITH THAT... CANNOT HELP YOU WITH THAT... EVERY QUESTION SHE DID NOT WANT TO HELP WITH WHAT A BUMMER!!! UNBELIEVABLE

Five couples have been visiting this wonderful motel every January for the past 8 years. We have never found Barbara to be anything but friendly and helpful, we think the motel is fabulous (even the tiny showers) and the area is beautiful.

We have stayed here many times,great price but hope you are checking in when Barbra's not there!She is very hard to deal with! Next time I book our room,I'll make sure I'm not dealing with her, I'll wait and call back.Same kind of problem that Debbie had,my family did also!!Great place,bad service!!

I love the non-stop views - I love the large bedrooms - I love the fully stocked kitchens - the great tv's - the great employees - the nice smelling sheets and towels - it is very very clean - anything you want they will assist you with - walk everywhere - breathing in the ocean from my room - overlooking the beach! Love it! Love it! Love it! I go as often as possible. Did I mention how nice the staff is? Great location. Perfect........ Thanks.......great memories every year.

We stayed there twice this summer. The first time, just my husband and I went. It was wonderful. We loved it so much (even though a fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and no one bothered to turn it off for 30 minutes) that we booked for the following week to bring our kids. We told them we had 3 kids, they told us only 4 per room. I asked even if one child was under 2? They replied that it would be okay and they would just give us an extra cot. I know this person's name that said okay...but I don't want to get her in trouble so I won't write it here. Anyway, when we got there, the receptionist that checked us in, Barbara, was angry and mean. She told us we were only allowed four and was very upset with us. Then later when we looked at the receipt, found she had charged us $30.00 extra for the extra person!!! No where was this mentioned to us nor was it written anywhere as policy. When we mentioned this to them the next day upon checking out, the receptionist all but accused us of lying about being approved for 5. We never got our $30.00 returned.

Let's just say, if my husband and I can't book a room here with a parking spot, we don't visit Capitola. You really can't beat the ocean view for the price, even during the high season. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to find long-term parking in Capitola.....Most of the rooms come with a parking space. Everytime I've been here, I've had a great experience. This would also be a wonderful place to stay for long term -- All of the rooms are spacious many of the rooms come with a full kitchen.

I've been staying at Harbor Lights for several years now. The views are the best in town. Can't beat the location and/or the rates. I'll be back again soon. Lisa Lee in Carmichael

Had a great time and met someone very special so I'll be back! The desk clerk was very heplful and nice!! Rooms were clean and all was in order.
