Lamplighter Motel, Astoria

WE selected the last available room here in the early evening. It had recently been converted to a smoking room. After spending the night, I know why. The room was so musty that I strongly suspect there is a mold problem. There is no security to speak of. The windows will not lock, and the door jamb was forced in the past. We should have stayed on the road for another couple of hours. Never again

I heard Mendoza runs this hotel...Its a nice blace but just be careful when you are staying there...

This motel is in a great location-within walking distance of all the downtown restaurants and sights-and is well worth the money. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was great. I would definitely stay here on my next visit to Astoria. Highly recommend.

Found this place looking for a motel that's dog-friendly. This is it. We've stayed here 4 times now. Close to down town, the Pig-N-Pancake, and within striking distance of clamming and fishing. Hey, it's not fancy, but clean and affordable.

It has a great location, mangement was very nice, the only was that the bathroom needed to be remodeled. Other wise a very nic place to stay. I will be staying there again.

1. There is inaqeuate parking 2. There is no separate light in the toilet/bathtub room 3. No coffee pot in the room. 4. No electrial outlets around the sink 5. The location is noisy. The expierence was not fun and I would not recommend this otel. During my stay, several people were partying and drinking all night and the management made no effort to quiet them down.

We found this place while looking for a place to spend the night. and stopped in as a last resort. What a surprise the lamplighter was. The rooms were average, but quiet and clean. The staff was absolutely the best. Very friendly and courteous. The chips and salsa were very good although we didn't get any stew. Coffee and pastry the next morning were fresh and very good. We really liked the one night there, but we will definitely be back there and for more than one night the next time.

We were traveling through and needed an affordable place to stay with our dog. We were so happy to stumble onto the Lamplighter. It looked very inviting from the highway with the hanging flower baskets and lit up rooms. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when checking in, and we were so amazed when they offered us a complimentary bowl of chili on a rainy damp evening. The room was clean and bright and we were happy to have found an inexpensive room that we felt comfortable in. I would recommend this motel and will stay again next time.

The promised Wifi did not work. The TV only worked on 4 stations, which changed randomly each time you selected a new station. The alarm went off at 5:30 AM—I did not set it. I was not happy.

Great value! Perfect location in Astoria. The stay was ideal for a girls get away. Comfortable rooms and our room was spacious. Loved the cozy lobby with a quick and easy continental breakfast which was just what we needed. Would recommend this motel and will definitely stay there again.
