Monte Verde RV Park and Campground, Angel Fire

My family recently took a holiday trip to New Mexico for New Years. I picked Angel Fire ski area because of Monte Verde's advertisement of a year round park and they were on the shuttle bus run to the ski slope. Further, they made a big deal out of winter camping on their web page and seemed to know what they were talking about. I made reservations with them several weeks in advance and made all the other arrangements for a week long trip. A few days before leaving, Monte Verde emailed me and stated that it had snowed and that they were not sure if they would be open. If I had known of their unreliability, I would have picked a different destination, since they are the only park at Angel Fire. We went anyway and Monte Verde was closed. We stayed at the Golden Eagle park in Eagle's Nest (10 miles away) and they were great. However, since we were not on the shuttle bus run, we pulled a tow vehicle. We went to Angel Fire and drove by Monte Verde several times---it looked like they never tried to clear the snow and open. It is ok to close for the winter but do not advertise that you are open---travelers rely on you well in advance. They are open in the summer unless it gets hot!
