yukky poo
This is a group of cabins that are very, very close together. The cabins are not cared for as they should be. The lake itself is gorgeous, and the little beach is awesome. BUT, the owners do not limit the number of people who stay at the cabins nor do they have rules about how the guests should behave (i.e., share the firepit/table with other guests, no fireworks, no parking in the other guest's spots, etc), and while we were there, there was like 30 people staying in the 2 cabins next door, lighting off fireworks every night (it wasn't the 4th and we have young children), taking our belongings (and leaving us nasty notes when we asked for them back?!?), and leaving all of their stuff on the ONLY table outside. In the Perch cabin (where we stayed), the shower is moldy, the water from the faucets stinks, the remote was broken, there was no vcr/dvd, there is no WI-FI (um, it's 2011), and the couches are so nasty we had to get blankets to sit on. I would be totally embarassed to charge $600 a week for this cabin in the condition it is in. We ended up staying at our family's house in town, so the rental was a complete waste of money.
These cabins COULD be awesome IF: the owners set some ground rules for the guests so that one party of guests can't ruin it for all of the others, if they provided Wi-Fi and working, more modernized electronics, if they updated the furniture and the shower stall, and provided sheets and blankets for the guests to use free of charge. In the condition they are in, these are TOTALLY overpriced. If you are gonna rough it, you might as well save some money and just get a tent and a campsite, which would have more privacy and offer the same amenities!!
