Canoe River Campground, Mansfield

i love the canoe river campground!!! How would you suggest the owner handle that fight in the rec hall full of adults and children. Especially her being a women???? She has to deal with every bit of trouble that happens there. Give us a suggestion on how this women should have handled a man wanting to fight besides telling him she was going to call the cops. As i see it it worked. Because he left in 2 seconds. My guess is you have never wrote a good review on a website. My guess is you are a chronic complainer. Canoe river is a fantastic place for a family in my opinion. And i am just a camper. No relations to anyone there. Would love to hear your suggestion on how to handle all these disruptive campers!!!! They have lots for the kids, paddle boats, fishing, dances, swimming pool. The pool is very crowded all the time. Although there is fishing available it is questionable as to whether or not the pond is actually stocked. Kids are everywhere on bikes and walking with no adult supervision. Sites are very small and very close together. Seasonals are very dilapitated and run down causing the entire campground to be lacking appeal. The seasonal site next to us, spent all day Saturday of Memorial Day weekend running a circular saw which was very disruptive. The bathrooms appear to be cleaned only once per day and have ants everywhere. Most campers appear to lack etiquette of any kind as they have no concern for their neighbors. This campground is barely one step up from a state park and that is because they have a pool and some activities.At 1:00 am somone was actually arrest by the police in the campground. Rules are definetly not enforced and adults are walking everywhere with alcohol.

I have been to a lot of campgrounds and i really enjoy camping, but this campground was awful. The sites were so close together that you could not tell one from the other. It was like campers were packed in like sardines. This place made me feel like I was at a trailer park than at a campground. It was just awful.

Sites are too close. Employees that live on site will call and complain about you if your dog makes one sound. Very rude and unprofessional staff!

What I liked was that there was a lot to do and you were never really bored. You had Saturday night dances with a D.J, Bingo, Softball Games, Swimming, and on Sundays Joe (the owner) would come around and give kids a ride in a fire truck. The only problem I had with the pool was once I was swimming and I saw that the light IN the pool hungout and there was wires scattered. But as soon as we told them, they fixed it. They could clean up a little more, especially in the bathrooms.

I must say, we have heard different things about Canoe River and had to try it out on our own. This location had very friendly and helpful staff, great activities for all ages, and pretty perfect weather (LOL)..the majority of the sites were very nice and clean, however some did need some attention and made larger if possible. In addition, the other campers in which we encountered were very friendly. The entire campground at night remained very quite (more then one could imagine). Would reccommend this campground to others and will return.

Theres so much to say about this place, the bathrooms are clean and its well worth your money.Unlike the idiot that said its a repulsive place I feel that this place is great for familys and camping. The sites are actually big and we had no problem pulling in our 32 footer and had plenty of room. Great place to stay love the staff, very helpful.
