Silver Wave Motor Inn, Hampton

Very cramped rooms, horrible service. The owner was extremely rude to two of the other people staying with myself and he also threatened to call the police and told one to get out after we complained to him when we found a flea on the bed. Also we went to move the stand between the beds and it fell off the wall. Lack of outlets. This place is a joke, dirty and I would never come back here by choice.

the owner is extremely rude, and who i believe to be his wife is also. we told her our tv wasn't working and she told us we were just using it wrong, that it wasn't broken, even though it really was. no prices on the website, he makes them up as he goes along. we found a flea in our room, and when we confronted him about it he told us that hes never had fleas before and that we were wrong, even though 4 of us clearly saw it. it says the pool is heated but it isn't. we were also told the rooms we got had two queen beds in each room, and when we got here there were two full beds in each room and he told us they have no queen beds in the whole hotel and that he "never said there were queen beds". the table between the beds is hanging on the wall by a piece of wood that is balancing on another piece of wood. also, my friend and I (were 21 and 20 year old females) were in the pool and the owner walked by with a creepy smile staring at us and said "ooh you like that, huh?" to us. SO CREEPY. also, the owner threatened my 16 year old cousin, and told him he was going to call the cops on him simply because he said we wanted a new room since everything was shitty in ours and there were fleas. when we mentioned the fleas and wanting the new room, he absolutely lost it and picked up the phone threatening to call the cops. like others have said, health inspectors probably haven't been here in 20 years and thats why the owner threatens to call the cops. also, they have weird papery bath mat things, and no garbage cans. seriously the worst experience i've had out of all the times I have came to Hampton Beach. definitely do NOT stay here, EVER.

This hotel was the best on the entire beach. Amazing pool and great rooms! Everyone was so nice there, and it was as pleasant a vacation as anyone could ever ask for!

Disgusting. Owner sets his own prices that's why you can't get the rates on his web page. I wonder when the last time the Health Department took a look at this place. Everything is on its last leg. Paper mats in the bathroom, furniture from the 60's (with rips in them!). Owner is a liar who promised us the room for free on Wednesday so my 9 year old could see the fireworks. Then he sent his Grandson to tell us we needed to get out. When we went to speak with the owner, Al, he verbally abused my 9 year old and told her she must have been dreaming, he never said that. I beg to differ, since I was standing next to her when he said it. Ruined our vacation. She was so upset with being called a liar and thrown out of the room like we were criminals. Charged us $125 per night. Like the other bloggers mentioned, you get a room and a toilet and that's it. Location is about all they have going for it. Mold coming through the vinyl in the bathroom, toilet was tilted and didn't flush properly. Absolutely disgusting for the price. Owner told me he had people that had stayed with him for the last 38 years and gave many of his customers a free night. Hmmm, read his website. Seems it's been family owned and operated for 24 years. If he promises you anything, have him put it in writing. What kind of man has his Grandson do his dirty work and yells at children? Puts all the other hotels in the area down. He especially had nothing good to say about the hotel directly in back of him, the arcade across the street or any of the other businesses around his hotel. Bragged about his pool and motel. I think he is dreaming. Overall, the place is a dump and the Health Department really needs to take a look at it. Will never, ever go back.

it smelled musty,it had old orange n green furniture from the 50sand he locked everyone in the gate surrounding the perimeter of the hotel.my fiancee n i had to climb the fence at 9:50 pm in order in get out,as the strip is open till 1,and for the 1st time in a long time we didn't have our 4 kids and came all the way from albany NY,almost 4 hrs n its 175 per night..unbelievable,oh n he said the pools heated so we jumped in n it was ice cold,although that was the only 1/2 way decent thing about the place,def not headed though,id never return.

It was close to the ocean, we got a wonderful kitchenette, two rooms, and an ocean view with a private deck. It was so quiet I could hear a pin drop. The owner was so funny and we had a great time! I would definitely stay here again.

LOVED IT! I am looking at this website for next year's trip to Hampton. All though I would love to stay here one more year, I want to visit more different places. But an excellent, romantic, QUIET place to stay! Very Reccomended.

This specific hotel is one of the cleanest and well run places on the beach. There are many people who have been coming to this very hotel for 35+ years!! It is only open in the summer, only families are rented to, and the pool is the largest and cleanest pool on Hampton Beach. I strongly recommend this hotel to families or even couples. I got an adjoining room with an ocean view and it was the BEST!!! Silver Wave= BEST HOTEL ON THE BEACH!

My friends took me to Hampton Beach for my "Bridal Bash". My maid of Honor called the Silver Wave to reserve a room. I could not believe the questions that the manager was asking. He wanted to know how old we were and if we would be bring alcohol into the hotel. He went too far to inquire if we would be bringing men back to our hotel room. These questions were so inappropriate. It made us feel that we were going to be spied on and stalked. We did end up going to drive by the hotel to see for ourselves what this place looked like. It was gross. They had no view of the ocean. It was built directly behind another building. The exterior looked absoluately gross. There was chipping paint and it looked like a real dive. Needless to say we refused to stay at the Silver Wave.....It is just way to creepy.

Well...As another poster mentioned, my wife & I made last minute plans to go to Hampton for the weekend. We were going to the "Casino" for a show. When we parked our car & came into the lobby I knew right off it was pretty much a dump. Everything & mean everything is OLD! The carpets, furniture, pool are something from the early 60's When I first spoke to the owner & he was trying to upgrade me to a "Deluxe Suite" (that's a joke) & claimed to have ocean views. Later that day I noticed there was a building in front of the deluxe rooms with a complete obstruction. We paid $195.00 a night & I say "never again" Live & learn. The upside? Well...It became our comic relief for the weekend. We would laugh about the paper bathroom floor mat & the cheap $10.00 plastic chairs you would usually find outside, not indoors! I can say the air conditioner worked well enough & the ppol is 9' deep at one end. I guess if it had rained, we would have been wet (I think) The rooms although old in nature, were clean enough. We had some friends staying down the street at the Kentville Motel & when I asked the owner just how far away it was he said "The Kentville" is nowhere near as nice as The Silver Wave!!! We'll....I was just asking for directions that's all, not a comparison! The Kentville is an older motel but it's much more modern inside & it does in fact have a real "ocean views" You're paying for the location & that's all. At almost $200.00 a night, value is a D- When you make last night plans & almost everyone else is "booked-up" & the Silver Wave has vacancy, there is your answer right there. One more thing....When you're on the 2nd floor, there is an open area with an assortmant of plastic chairs & tables. This makes me laugh....There is a reclining chair that I swear is from the late 40's. It's so ugly & worn/dirty looking! You could put that at the curbside & slap a "Free" poster on it & I guarantee it wouldn't get taken.
