Northgate Inn, Charles Town

Are there a lot of cars in the lot??? NO..there is a reason for that. Just like a resturant at noon..no cars stay away!

disliked nasty rooms and the bed bugs. NEED OWNERS TO REMODEL INSIDE THESE ROOMS FOR THE MONEY THEY CHARGE PER NIGHT. Feel sorry for the hotel staff.

What I liked about this hotel was the fact that I could keep my dogs with me, other than that it was not a good experience at all, my husband & I weren't even able to shower--the tub had mildew all over it! (not stains), this could have been easily removed with not much effort (regular cleaning). There was hair stuck to the sides of the tub!! I couldn't believe it, just disgusting!

I feel bad I have to give this place such a horrible review but after staying for only one night I can honestly say this was the worst hotel I have every stayed in. I will start by saying there was clumps dirt all over the floor, hair in the shower and pieces of marijuana in the bed... However, that was the least of it. Throughout the 12 hours I stayed there I must have seen 5 stink bugs which I hope did not lay eggs in my suitcase. The worst part about this place was while I was trying to sleep I could hear the people under us which kept me up all night. The walls are paper thin and I felt like I was literally at this persons party. This seems like a place young kids rent out so they can get drunk in a cheap hotel. Do not make the same mistake I made by staying here, you will regret it.

what a pure dump. i have stayed in numerous hotels, inns, etc....over my short 45 years on this earth. wash up at a gas station and stay in your vehicle, there is no reason, kids or not, to go to this place, the owners dont even care alittle!!!!!

I gone for business. The motel were neat and clean. Plus they had just got wifi in the room's. The price wae very reasonble and also the staff was very friendly. I like the motel and yes i will go back .

Motel was clean. It was in budget. We like staying at Northgate Inn.

roaches crawling on the wall, room smelling of pi, and also owner very rude when the complaint was reported, spent 80$ and nothing but abuse by the manager PI

Yea, the place stunk to high heaven. 2 dead cockroaches on the bathroom floor, spiderweb in the corner of the shower and a big crack in the bathroom sink. I've stayed here multiple times through '07 and '08. The location is excellent, right in between Harper's Ferry and Charlestown racetrack but I'll spent the extra $20 for a room elsewhere.

I stayed here while doing a three week training class in Maryland. I give good credit to housekeeping services. However, the rooms smell, the bathtub/shower combo barely drained, the toilet bubbled up on each flush, the faucets are scummy, the walls have numerous patches, my room had a huge whole in the wall that had been covered with a peice of wood 4x3 and then they a shoved a stained, stinky, funky sofa between the bed and the wall to hide the hole. I even asked the owner to remove the skanky sofa, but instead, he raised my rates and told me to get a smaller room versus the one I had stayed in for 22 days with no complaints. The bed was on wooden blocks, the doors have no protection against the abundance of insects that crawl into the rooms, the rooms are barely ventilated and the windows don't open. The continental breakfast is frozen donuts put out each morning to thaw and stale cereal in canisters, and some so so coffee. The employees were fine, but the owner who just happens to own a few other hotels in the area, reminds me of the typical cheap slum lords you find in low-rent cities. For the rates he charges, you could spend a couple of bucks more and get a whole lot more for your money. If you are planning an extended stay, you're better off renting an apartment than paying $80 bucks a night for this place. The area was really nice, no crime, no real headaches. Shopping is close by. That is the only saving grace for this place. The beavers and skunks on the property really add some "out doorseyiness" to the whole thing... I guess. With that said, it's up to you. But, I strongly recommend that you call a friend in the area and have them look for a hotel for you. I do not recommend Northgate Inn and I will not spend company funds on such a place again.
