Morgantown Motel, Morgantown

I stayed here last year and it was a complete dump, but low on funds I decided to give it another shot. I was completely amazed. Under new management and newly renovated rooms it was a very pleasant stay! The rooms have new marble bathroom tiling, and new hardwood floors in the room. The bed frames could use some work despite the comfortable brand new mattresses. The new managers are VERY customer service oriented and great to deal with! I plan on returning upon my next visit.

I liked this Motel due to the fact that it has a good rooms (remodeled) and the price was reasonable for the service. Good location off of I-68

We stayed here because of the price,we were on a very limited budget (desperate)..the room smelled like mildew and urine...the carpet was at least 20 years old and too scarey to walk on with bare feet....the bed was confy and huge but there was no top sheet and the bedspread had large cigarette wholes in it..the end table was missing the drawer(broken off most likely in a fight)...there are NO local channels BUT many spanish channels...the TV is old as they come the air conditioner kept us awake sometimes it was sooooo loud and on its last legs.....as for the WIFI well what a joke,slow if you can even get on and try staying on...was alot of work...as for the other guests there(you may want to stay inside) they live there quite a few of them and they are assorted walks of life(none of which you would want to have for friends unless you were real desperate for conversation) as for the phones well they didnt always work eitherPS bring a moquitoe net,they are huge there...while we were there someone was bitten by bedbugs (no joke) and the cleaning people were on the rampage for roach killing with bleach and roach spray (the spray was handled by the landscaper) ALL IN ALL A NIGHTMARE ON SMITHTOWN ROAD

My husband's work requires him to travel a lot and morgantown motel is one of the places we stay at frequently when in town. It's good for the money considering we only have to pay about $350 for a whole week... try to find that kind of deal anywhere else in morgantown. I have to admit it is pretty run down, but it works for what we need... a place to sleep. I was however, pleasantly surprised, when we stayed this past week. We requested a non-smoking room just to see if it would be any nicer and omg... room 31 made it seem like we were in a completely different hotel! It had a nice king size bed and the carpet wasn't so beat. It must have been renovated recently; they should keep that up...The staff has always been very accommodating to us and the manager seems friendly and easy to talk to. We'll definitely be staying there in the future when my husband is working in the area again.

Don't take your shoes off, the carpet is awful. It smells like mold & urine. Boy I like the picture of the room they show, I'll never believe a photo again. The owner must live in that room, I didn't see any that looked that good. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The lady at the front desk was very courteous. There is a slight elder man with gray/white hair who is gruff and lacks manners. We were heading to the office when this man came out of the front door and spit a wad of brown stuff, right on the ground. The location is good, and if they landscaped the rear of the building you might see the view of the river. They should knock it down and start over.

I honestly have to say that my 2 weeks there were absolutely horrible! In the 2 weeks I was there...The fridge and stove had broken, the toilet had broken, we had no phone for a entire day, the internet was out, they were hanging up on people trying to call me..apparently did not know how to transfer them. I cut my leg open on the bed, but worst of all there were cockroaches. Sound like a nightmare? It sure felt like one to me! I paid $448 for this nightmare.

I loved how the bugs crawled all over the walls, me, and my kids. They are well fed and not afraid of anyone. Thanks again

This place pretty much is a dump. But it's my favorite dump! The building is old, it's in a desolate part of town and often full of drunken partiers(my peeps). On a football weekends all the other hotels within 50 miles of Mo'town require a 2 night stay at 150.00 to 200.00 per night (even the usual traveler chains). The "Mo-Mo" is about 50.00 per night, allows single night stays and has a friendly staff. The other places can have their pools, bars and restaraunts that I never would use anyway. Just give me a place to tailgate in the cold with espn, a fridge for my brew, and somewhere to crash after the game while the other 60,000 drunks brave the interstate home for 200 miles.

Morgantown Motel will never be confused with Holiday Inn or Best Western, but all we really want is a clean room at a reasonable price where we can shower and sleep during our reunion weekend in that area each year in mid June, and the place is okay for that purpose. There are not many other businesses in the area where the motel is situated, but I wouldn't say it was a really bad part of town, though I don't live there and so the locals would know more about that than I do. In any event, it was quiet, and a good value. Last year, four of us spent three nights there in June for $144.00...taxes included !! Try staying at Holiday Inn or Best Western for that amount!!
