Great B&B
Abingdon Boarding House is an absolutely charming house dating back to 1840 that has been lovingly restored. We stayed in the Roosevelt room which included a beautiful king size bed with lovely bedding, fireplace, and new bath with large shower. The public areas include a cozy living room with beautiful furniture and fireplace which is next to the large dining room. All rooms are very tastefully decorated with just the right amount of antiques carefully placed throughout the house.
Breakfasts were a feast consisting of freshly prepared eggs, waffles, sausage, fresh fruit, juice and coffee and tea. Portions were family style and plentiful. We ate every bit of the food because it was SO good.
The B&B is located in the historic area of downtown Abingdon and 1 block from the Virginia Creeper Trailhead which is a 34 mile multi-purpose trail. It is owned and operated by Juanita who is a wonderful hostess. She has a great sense of humor, is a great cook, and runs a first class B&B and will provide you with suggestions for dining and other local attractions to make your visit as interesting as possible.
Overall, the Abingdon Boarding House was one of the best B&Bs we've ever had the pleasure to experience. As mentioned above, the house is charming, warm, and cozy. The food was wonderful and plentiful. And, Juanita is one of the most pleasant, fun-filled, kind innkeepers we've ever met.
Do not miss this great B&B. You will not be disappointed!!
