Don't go in that place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/10
After 3 days there we did not see the time to leave from that hostel! Dirty as I've never seen. The owner and the staff unhelpful and rude. After the holydays the BIG SURPRISE! They have stolen from my credit card the money for 1 night more! The payment was made 3 hours after I leaved the hostel! Now I understand why when I paid cash they did not wanted to give me a receipt! It's better for you not to go in that place!!

Watch out!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/10
They charge us even though they confirmed our cancelation.‎ They charged us, and are noe refusing to pay back our money. We made a police report. But watch out dont leave your creditcards or anything to them. They said that they canceled our reservation, we have everything on mail and we spoke with them. But they still refuse to pay back.

The BEST HOSTEL IN EUROPE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/07
My four friends and I were back-packing in Spain and had all of our documents stolen. We were ataying at the Melting Pot and the owners helped us so much. We would have been in so much trouble if it was not for them. It should be mentioned that this does not contribute to my giving them the best ranks possible. The hostel itself is too good to be true. It is located on the top floor of a high-end apartment building and has ocean views. Seriously take my word for it, you will be so glad that you booked this hostel. Wonderful people, wonderful facilities, wonderful experience.

nice location, lousy staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/07
great city with nice beaches and wonderful tapas bars and beautiful musea. Melting pot has been our only disapointment in malaga. The second day we returned to the hostel after three hours on the beach. We found our luggage piled up at the bar. They had cleaned out our room and it had already been given to another couple. The owner of the hostel, who doesnt speak english (in the melting pot??) had brought his dog, and with clear gestures and not so clear language made sure we left his hostel. The english speaking staff here was not helpful at all. They expected us to pay for the room for the second day before 11.45 am. Because we didn't know about this specific regulation, we left for the beach around 12.30 pm. A little more ability to communicate with guests would be very helpful. If you choose to visit this hostel, make perfectly clear when and how long you plan to stay. Pay in advance, ask for the regulations and dont expect to be treated with empathy (for them 'rules are rules') We can advise a room at calle maria blanca no. 9. It is a very tradional spanish house, located in the middle of the old centre of malaga, run by an old very friendly and nice spanish woman. She has several very nice and comfortable rooms for available (and there cheaper than the hostels rooms too).

im coming back in october yipee
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/07
I loved this place so much ive booked again for 5th-16th of october i stayed 19th-26th august i didnt want to leave . The staff were friendly even trying to understand my scouse english ive booked a spanish course now i promise guys haha ,even as a woman travelling on her own i didnt feel out of place thanks to the staff who looked out for me thanks to raphael and sergio. Crazy flavio keeps the party mood going with his singing and laughter. The food george cooks is lovely and cheap yummy the cleaniess is great even if sometimes you have to wait to use the bathroom if you time it right its not a problem , the only minor problem is the many steps so you might need some oxygen and can be a bit scary if your tipsy hehe it was also lovely to meet so many people from different countries and ages it never felt strange, this place is sure to make your holiday enjoyable and chilling

excellent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/14/07
A great place to stay! The staff is very nice and keeps the place clean around the clock. A balcony with sea view and a comfortable living room provide a cozy place for kicking back and meeting fellow backpackers. Breakfast is free. For lunch/dinner you can grab something from the prepared food and a drink for just 5 euro. It's great value for the money and pretty yummy. The city center and especially the area with all the bars is within walking distance. The beach is just a few steps away. This is probably the best place I've ever stayed away. Even after 10 days I still loved it and wished I could have stayed longer. I can definitely recommend it to anybody without any restrictions.
