nice location, lousy staff

great city with nice beaches and wonderful tapas bars and beautiful musea. Melting pot has been our only disapointment in malaga.
The second day we returned to the hostel after three hours on the beach. We found our luggage piled up at the bar. They had cleaned out our room and it had already been given to another couple.
The owner of the hostel, who doesnt speak english (in the melting pot??) had brought his dog, and with clear gestures and not so clear language made sure we left his hostel. The english speaking staff here was not helpful at all.
They expected us to pay for the room for the second day before 11.45 am. Because we didn't know about this specific regulation, we left for the beach around 12.30 pm.
A little more ability to communicate with guests would be very helpful.
If you choose to visit this hostel, make perfectly clear when and how long you plan to stay. Pay in advance, ask for the regulations and dont expect to be treated with empathy (for them 'rules are rules')
We can advise a room at calle maria blanca no. 9. It is a very tradional spanish house, located in the middle of the old centre of malaga, run by an old very friendly and nice spanish woman. She has several very nice and comfortable rooms for available (and there cheaper than the hostels rooms too).
