Le Canard au Parapluie Rouge B&B, Argenton-sur-Creuse

Exquisite 1700s completely renovated home, close to picturesque Medieval villages, Roman ruins, parks, beach. Kathy and Martin provide a warm, family-like welcome with gourmet meals, trip advice, and peaceful seclusion. Fluently bilingual English/French. We loved every minute: Each day, Kathy suggested great day trips and provided maps. When we were tired, we were welcome to rest all day at the B & B playing with their great dog, Ruby, visiting the chickens, and being served drinks as we lounged near the pool. Amazingly cheap for the quality! I'd recommend it for everyone.

I do not know when CONTRIBUTOR went to Le Canard but it most certainly cannot have been in the last 3 years! We have been to Le Canard many times and when we aren't going there for a holiday we go to Le Royal Meridien beach and spa in Dubai,as we like people who go that little bit further to make your stay special!Kathy & Martin offer a place a way from home where nothing is too much trouble.As for the comment that things were available"for a price" that is a lie with Kathy we have never paid for any beers,gin and tonic soft drinks cakes(and there have been many)anything other than the fabulous dinners that we have booked, pre dinner drinks on the terrace very often turn out to be champagne!Excellent gardens for children to run around in,ideal for young and old.Really this place is wonderful..maybe if you like all inclusive types this is not for you!!!!
