Cheating hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/30/07
About two members of this staff knew how to treat customers with any respect. The rest were so bad as to be personally insulting without showing remorse. For instance, staff insisted "no one else had any complaints". Funny, the other long term staying guests shared my attitude and negative experiences to the point that they were prepared to write to the owner. This has ruined the experience for me and ruled out any positive aspects. Rooms in this hotel were tinny, small and lacking of the natural light. Toilet private but very dirty and smell badly. Location was not convenient to join other parts but it was suitable for people need walking.

great -place superb
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/07
We stayed 4th-8th aug. Had a great time. the staff very friendly, room excellent. we had a junior suite very roomy for the two of us, was worth the extra money as other travellers had sugested. if going it is a great place to stay right in the heart of the old town, everything very handy within walkin distance. One thing i would suggest is that you book no trips till you get there, they can organize everthing for you. We had it all booked before we arrived and and i'm sure we would have done it differently had we not. Hello to all the staff, Í'm sure your reading this. you were all great, enjoy the kiwis. look forward to seeing you all again some time. kindest regards David and Michelle Beer NEW ZEALAND

Fantastic Hanoi Hotel"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/07
Hanoi Elegance is the Best ! My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Binh and his staff/partners are simply excellent at what they do. They are friendly, sincere, knowledgeable and have great senses of humor. We felt as though we were staying with old friends the whole time we were at the Elegance. Binh organised our airport pick up and drop off, and a fantastic overnight tour on Halong bay aboard the "Santa Maria". Our first day of the tour, Binh contacted our tour guide on the boat, to make sure we were OK and enjoying ourselves. He also gave us excellent tips on where to eat and what to see in Hanoi. As well, we just paid for everything on check out, including the tour, which was really convienient. The hotel has nicely decorated, clean and comfortable rooms. The PC in the room was a huge bonus. Our room was also amazingly quiet considering how busy the old quarter is. Our room was cleaned every day and we were provided with fresh fruit and the breakfasts were great as well. We didn't want to leave Hanoi Elegance and hope to be back there soon. Cam and Lisa (Australia)

They'll run up the stairs for you
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/22/07
Great hotel with nice, large, clean rooms with tv and internet (in the room!). Best part was the friendly and warm staff who made our stay fun and help us make all our arrangements for Halong Bay. Location is great in old quarter close to shopping and the lake (ask the reception for restaurant suggestions)

a home away from home
By dovan, 5/22/07
My sister and I stayed at the Hotel Elegance in Feb. 2007. It was our first visit to Vietnam and our first hotel experience there. It was without a doubt the best place we stayed during our month in Vietnam. The management and staff looked after our every need, booked flights, trains, tours and with great efficiency and care. The rooms were comfortable, clean and we loved having access to internet in our room! What we most appreciated was the friendliness and great sense of humour of the staff, we have never been so warmly welcomed. On our last day we departed for Hanoi Station to take the overnight train, we had just gotten out of the cab when we saw the hotel manager pull up on his motor bike, he wanted to give us some sandwiches and fruit to take on the train as we'd been on a tour that day and hadn't had time to get anything to eat, he helped us with our luggage and accompanied us to the train. Incredible! We'll never forget the kindness and generousity of the fine management of Hotel Elegance. It's an experience we'll never forget.

Excellent service
By Claire, 12/13/06
The Hotel Elegance is a fantastic hotel. It has recently been refurbished and the level of service, décor and standard of the rooms is excellent. I would have expected to pay a lot more. So for the price you get far more than you would expect. All the rooms have a good standard of air con, wooden floors, nice bathroom and the best thing is rooms have a PC and internet which is free. I don’t think there are many hotels in this price range that can match this. The hotel is perfectly situated about a 4 min walk from Hoan Kiem Lake and with all the comings and goings of the Hanoi streets on the doorstep. But inside its lovely and quiet. But for me, apart from the good price, the excellent quality of rooms, level of cleanliness and good security, are the staff. They made it my home from home and they fast became good friends. Thank you everyone at the Elegance for making my stay just that bit more special

Bad experience at Hanoi Elegance Hotel!
By Jeslyn, 11/21/06
My partner and I booked a 3-night stay at Hanoi Elegance Hotel through AccomLine and were informed that the booking was confirmed before we depart Singapore. However, when we reached the hotel, the staff told us that there were no rooms available for the first 2 nights that we have booked. The staff told us to go to another hotel instead. We requested the staff to send us over and they were reluctant at first but after much arguing, they finally agreed. We stayed in the hotel for the first 2 nights before leaving for Halong Bay for a few days. Before leaving for Halong Bay, we checked with the staff at Elegance and they confirmed that we would be able to stay at their hotel when we return from Halong Bay. However, when we returned, we were told once again that there were no rooms and were again directed to another hotel. It is most frustrating to be rejected at the hotel that we have booked in advance (and rejected twice somemore!) and even worse to be directed to other substandard hotels!
