Hotel Bangalore Gate, Bangalore

We stayed two nights at this hotel. We arrived at 4 in the morning because of a delayed flight and the night clerk was only fairly helpful, but looked as though he had been sleeping. Our room was very clean and well maintained. The shower is not separate from the rest of the bathroom, but that wasn't really a problem. Special thanks to Mr. Shetty, the daytime manager I think, who helped us secure seats on the train (we were wait-listed) and allowed us to store our bags after we checked out, as well as use a room to freshen up before our train trip to Kerala. When one of our party fell outside just after checking out and got EXTREMELY dirty, Mr. Shetty allowed us to go back to the room we had checked out from and use the shower. A very nervous man, he is nonetheless a very good hotel manager. The adjoining restaurant served very good food. No serious complaints, but I will say that the room in which we freshened up before our train trip didn't have air conditioning or hot water, so I'd be careful about which room you book. Location was pretty good, but we didn't stay in Bangalore long enough to get a good feel for what location might be better.
