Fantastic Chateau
I attended a family wedding at the Chateau in August, 2006. With guests from Europe and the States as well we filled not only this chateau but other rooms in the area as well. The chateau is definitly isolated -there is nothing else at the village, but close by are excellent places to eat and to visit. Vezelay is only 15 minutes or so and definitly worth the trip. Pontabuert is also close by as is Avallon. The chateau dates from the 1400's with an addition from the 1700's. The rooms, location and appearance are of various styles and qualities. Be sure to specify what you are seeking when you make a reservation. The breakfast varried each morning from sweet rolls to cereal. The setting is fantastic. There is a pottery at the intersection of roads leading to the chateau. It is marvelous!! I enjoyed the stay and would return again, knowing that this is more authentic than the five start establishments in the area...
