Cadillac Motel, St Albans

My family and I stayed here in 2009! There were a few issues and swore we would never give it a second chance...but went to Trip Advisor and saw the reviews and that they were under new ownership, so we decided to give this place another shot!!! We were VERY impressed!! Not only was the new decor refreshing, the rooms were very clean and the new staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this motel to anyone planning on visiting in the Saint Albans area!!

This place was terrible. I noticed a few rooms were redone but the way they take care them wasnt worth the effort of remodeling. They have 1 housekeeper that I have seen and she does NOT know how to clean and actually was very rude to me. I overheard the lady at the front desk talking about having bedbugs a few weeks prior to my arrival. If I mentioned to any locals that I stayed here then the joke was "Have you had to call or have you seen the cops up there yet??? Thats is sad. The let people stay there that dont have a place to live and thats good unless they are dealing drugs or child molesters that are there. Which it is my understanding anyone can stay as long as there paid for. To anyone that is thinking of staying there DONT DO IT. Between the disgusting rooms and criminal you might have living next door its not worth the risks.

worst motel to be in, they have ants, bed bugs, black mold, cops are there all the time, child molesters everywhere, even the owner of the Rock Resturaunt is a child molester. The owners of the motel are at odds with each other all the time and are drunks, all of the buildings are falling down, even though they have been remodeled.

I just want to confirm the more recent reviews of The Cadillac Motel. We were there in September, 2009. It USED to be a pleasant, affordable to stay but it has definitely deteriorated in last couple of years. Unfortunately, the earlier reviews posted are no longer accurate.

my brother lives in vermont, every year that we have went to vermont for a weekend, we have stayed here at the cadillac. we have not been here for a few years to stay, but we did a few weeks ago. we see that there was new owners from when the last time we were here, and the place has really gone to crap. we called 2 weeks in advance, so they had plenty of time to clean our rooms on the hill, but they were disgusting. the rooms smelt of mildew, there was mold along the window sill in the bathroom, wall paper falling off, wet stains on beams in bathroom. i was told the pool would be open a week prior to when we were going arrive and it was so dirty and green, we could not go in. i had never seen the lawn look so bad all the years i stayed there, but it had to be about a calf high. i told the owner the night we arrived that the rooms were disgusting and that they stunk and they were not worth $95 a night, and all he had to say was- you wanted 2 rooms on the hill, so that is what i gave you. i will never go back to this hotel and i do not recommend anyone else to stay there. i am usually a easy going person and i dont usually complain, but this place was horrible.

About five years since I've been here and now I will never go back. Besides the grass being about calf high, mold on the window pane in the bathroom, mold and mildew on the wood in the bathroom. We use to love to come here, we wouldn't go anywhere else. The place has become so run down. If you google Cadillac Motel you can see how clear the pool use to be, and you could see the beautiful waterfall on the hill (which is now filled in with follage). We were told the pool would be open the Monday before we arrived, was not even treated with chemicals until we arrived and was cloudy green for the duration of our stay(4 days). The rooms have become disgusting; walls have holes in them, rugs are bubbled up and stained, smelled musty, beams in the ceiling are cracking, and there are cobwebs in the window (not just a couple). The manager claimed that he spent 3 days cleaning, DOUBT IT!!!! My family was very disappointed. Even the onsite restaurant is closed. Things really do change after a few years.

I am shocked at the 5star ratings some have given this place. The room had dirty stained carpeting, mildew on the shower curtain, dust everywhere, stained bed covering, and the linens had the apperance of already been slept in! This room was totally disgusting. There was even bit and pieces of trash under the bed. (ex: empty candy wrappers, coffee stirrers) And I wont even mention the bathroom! I would not recommend this place to anyone at all.

I will not recommend this motel to anyone. The positives: the beds and couch were comfortable and the room was large. However, the room was dirty, had spider webs complete with spiders, had trash hanging on the room divider, had some sort of black growth around the edges of the non-skid bath mat, had a dirty towel in the bathroom, had peeling paper in the bathroom and bedroom, and has a terrible mildewy odor. The entire motel needs a thorough deep scrubbing with bleach and probably should have all of the fabric pieces replaced after cleaning to make sure the odor is gone. It probably wouldn't hurt to call in a specialist to check for mold. All this for close to the same cost as the newly refurbished La Quinta! I will be more careful in future to make sure a room is available elsewhere before I visit St. Albans again.

excellent place!!!!!! beautiful scenery!!!! A must stay for any nature lover!!!!! Excellent rates!!!!!! This is a great place to stay, everyone in the are should stay here!

The people are great....Always accomodating...and have great food at the rest.......very clean...Service is awesome and the people are very friendly...looking forward to getting back there again.
