Credit Card Scammers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/10
I booked a room on line for my son in his name and paid with my credit card. I live in Texas, he is moving to New Jersey. When he arrived they told him I had to fax or e-mail a copy of my credit card, front and back to a personal yahoo e-mail address. When I called to speak with the clerk to tell her that I was happy to send a copy of my DL so they could verify the information and compare it to my son's DL she hung up on me. My son called me back a couple minutes later saying that if he left they would charge the room anyway but they refused to give him the room until they had a hard copy of my credit card. I refused and a man saying he was the manager asked me what my problem was and why wouldn't I trust him? Duh. Personal e-mail, hard copy of my credit card front and back. After a lot of arguing, they finally relented and gave my son the room (he is not underage, irresponsible or scary looking) and charged my card which they had previously insisted they couldn't do with the information from the on line booking.
This is a very bad place. If I had the money to allow them to charge for the night and pay for another hotel room, I would have insisted he go elsewhere.
