La Quinta Inn & Suites Rapid City, Rapid City

Let me start to say that the hotel staff was rude when we checked in. I asked about the water park and told them I was told that it was included with the hotel which it wasn't. The room we stayed in was so dusty bedspreads were dirty and it smelled like pee. The breakfeast area was so small that their was no where to sit and the staff for breakfeast was very pushy and rude for you too get done eating and leave. Kids in the hall way screaming and playing and not leting you go bye. Would never stay there again. If you need to wash clothes dont do it there washing machines didnt work.

FYI The water park is "Never included in the room rate." This is what my family was told upon checking in. We were however, told that the water park was included when we made the reservations a month before. You will have to pay at least $15 more per person if you wish to use the water park per day. We canceled our second night and went 2 exits west to the Best Western where the water park was included. Met several people there who had the same experience we did. This must happen all the time because the manager on duty was very unprofessional and kept repeating the quote from above. Since we were not willing to pay the upcharge, we had no access to a pool at all. The kids were very disappointed! Not a cheap skate but refuse to be get the bate and switch. Also, the room was full of dust and had rusting scratches in the tub/shower. Fluffy sheets and fancy furnature do not automaticly mean clean.

This is a clean, friendly place to stay. Our kids loved the water park and arcade. But you can hear your neighbors through the walls and above you. And the sheets do not fit the comfortable pillow top beds. We would wake up with bedding everywhere but where it belonged. Breakfast had variety, but the only hot item was waffles.

Had a room and called 4 days before the date to cancel it. The guy said it was all taken care of but I guess they decided to charge me for the room I cancelled anyway. I called them and they said there was nothing they could do.

If you don't have children, or you are not interested in Water Park facilities, don't stay here! The playground in the hallways with children running up & down while screaming leaves a lot to be desired for the Adult Guest. Super staff. Beautiful Inn with super rooms and amenities (fridge & microwave). But if peace & quiet is what you crave, look elsewhere.

I really enjoyed my stay at the LaQuinta! It was exceptionally clean and the staff was friendly. Conveniently located right off of 90, and minutes from all the major shopping areas and a short drive to Mount Rushmore and all the activities associated with the Mount Rushmore attractions. I think this hotel is awesome for families, the indoor waterpark is great, and the free continental breakfast was above and beyond anything I would have expected. Only negative is that they do not offer any room service, but the in-room microwave and refridgerator make it possible to have snacks in your room at a fraction of the cost! The free internet access in room was an added bonus. It was a bit overpriced at $149/night for this caliber of hotel.

My stay there was long and pleasent, very nice wait staff and newly constructed LARGE covered water park. It also has a nice arcade for the little ones. I recommend staying here or the Fairfield whenever in Rapid City!
