Staff is rude and unaccommodating
I was moving into a new house and stayed for 10 nights in Nov '09. The hotel smells bad. The rooms were clean and nice for the price. The service is horrid. When we checked in, the Baymont website advertised that if you stay 2 or more nights, there is a discount; we arrived at the hotel and they told us there was no such thing- I had to get out my laptop and make my reservation online while standing in front of the front desk because they "didn't offer such a discount". After a few days, and us being 1 of 5 people at the hotel, we could not arrange a room w/ an ocean view because they were "booked". We asked for a late check out on the last day and they told us that it could not be arranged because of the people waiting to move into our room (not a chance) and that the maids left at noon (they commonly didn't clean our room until 3:00pm) and that we would be charged $10/hour for each hour after check out. There was also a instance that I had asked if I could have orange juice after breakfast, the lady at the front desk gladly turned on the juice maker and gave it to me; a few nights later I asked again and the lady told me that the juice maker could NOT be turned on outside of breakfast hours (she was lying through her teeth). I was also annoyed that cookies were not served consistently at 5:00; some days they would and some days they wouldn't. The moral of the story: the front desk needs to train their employees to come up with a consistent story.
