Courtyard Memphis Southaven, Southaven

We enjoyed this property. Very clean. Would definitely return and stay here. Very centrally located for anything in Memphis. Its also located on a strip where you have access to ANYTHING you need-- Kroger, WalMart, Lowes, Best Buy, Target, Applebees, Qdoba, CVS, Walgreens, etc We recommend this property. Things to note: 1) Listed address is a new one and will not be pulled up in a GPS. The GPS address is 7149 Hungry Fisherman. (When they built all of these properties in 2006, they renamed the street and gave new addresses. For some reason even after 2 years GPS doesn't have the new info.) 2) If you like to work out like me, don't rely on this property. It has a Precor elliptical, bike and treadmill but they are in disrepair. Drive to Fitness Premier 2 miles away and pay $5 visitor fee for a complete gym. This is what I did. 3) They have a laundry room with 2 washers/dryers for $1 each. Soap is complimentary. If you need more capacity there is a laundromat about 4 miles away. 4) You need a car. You really can't maneuver around this area without one. The buffet is great; just get there early. Indoor pool and whirlpool were fun for the kids!! Hope that you enjoy your stay!!

The location was good and the staff was very friendly. We had so much fun and were treated with respect that we hated to leave.

I hate to ever sound or be negative but, I want to warn others about this hotel and what not to expect. I guess when we couldn't find it with out gps navigator someone was trying to do us a favor! Our first level of displeasure was when we discovered our suite was only a single room not much bigger than a room at Motel 6 and at twice the rate of that branch. Amenities were nice but, over growded for the size of the room. Our next surprise was paying for the breakfast that we would have gotten otherwise for free if we'd have stayed at Super 8! The "warm" buffet totaled about $13 bucks with very limited selections. We found a Ryan's Steak house just minutes away with a COMPLETE breakfast buffet for just pennies more. Our other major disappointments ranged from RUNNING OUT OF TOILET PAPER because there were no extra rolls and the partial roll handn't been replaced, to wiping down the bathroom floor with a handtowel because of the dirt left on the floor by housekeeping, an empty kleenex box, and no coffee for the coffee maker our first morning there. Least but not least was the unresponcive desk clerk that hung up on us when we called about needing a fresh box of kleenex for the night.
