Comfort Suites Searcy, Searcy

My husband who is a U.S. Soldier out of the 39th brigade returned home on September 13th from Iraq for a 2 week leave...our home is under reconstruction in which I, his wife, have been staying with family members while he is away. We have been married for 1 year. Two months after our wedding he was activated and this is the first I have seen him since March. Since our home is in chaos we came to Searcy Comfort Suites in hopes of having some quiet time together as he is leaving me again in 13 days. My husband walked to the front desk of this hotel and the lady working the desk first asked him if he was a local...he replied with yes...she then stated to him that they were not allowed to let "locals" room there. He explained to her that he is military and is only here for a couple of weeks and explained the situation with our home...she said the only local people that could stay would be people that had power outages. My husband asked if there could be an exception...she of course said no...so he asked if he could speak with the manager...and she of course said no...so he asked if he could have a number to call the manager...and she of course said no...she ended up calling the manager and got it approved...however...the way she spoke to my husband was appauling. She told him she would let him stay there just this once and only if his cards went through as if to say they would not go through. Maybe my husband looked a little rough...I don't know...I mean he did just come in from fighting a war for this great country and he was very tired. Needless to say his cards went through. He came out to the car and told me what happened and I said "No Way...go back in and get a refund we are not staying here." He went back in and told the girl that I did not feel comfortable staying there and we were just going to go ahead and get a refund and stay somewhere else...she said she could not give us a refund. I went in and asked for the phone number to the corporate office and she told me she did not have that number...so I said then you need to give me a refund. She called her manager on the phone and made it seem like I was yelling at her and said she was going to call the cops. I feel that this young lady is a direct reflection of Comfort Suites. I have never in my life been treated the way she treated my husband and I. What kind of place does not support the troops that are home on leave? Are there certain circumstances that can be over rode when it comes to "locals." We were charged for the room and we are not staying there...we are now at a sister hotel of comfort suites which is holiday inn express...they are very friendly here at this hotel and seem to have a sense of what patriotism is.
