Apartments Matjan, Ohrid

The most amazing private apartment we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We had a privilege to stay in apartment No.1 which was really majestic, with 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, 2 air conditioners, 2 cable TVs, and a beautiful big balcony with a great view of the lake plus old city. Everything in this apartment, decor, service and amenities was to die for. The city of Ohrid have such an energy and this apartments makes you feel that energy even double

This is a great location and value. Three of us stayed a week for Thanksgiving and visited my daughter studying here. Located right in the center of Ohrid. We had a balcony room with lake view. Rooms are very clean and spacious. It was great to have a kitchenette in the room. Staff is great and very helpful. Would definitely book again if I get the chance to go back to Macedonia.

My husband and I stayed at this apartment before we had left on a cruise from Greece in 2008. Everything was so great that we are more than likely going to return with our daughter. It is located in the best place so that you would not need to walk far to get to any of the great activities there are to do in Ohrid. You don't need a car at all! I can't wait to go back! The service was excellant, despite the fact that neither my husband nor myself speak much Macedonian. In fact, the owners and employees spoke very well English, and were quite easily understood. The apartment was above and beyond our expectations. It was very clean and after walking in, we felt very much at home! I just wish we could have stayed there longer than the one day we had, but had to catch the ship!

I decided not to write a classic review this time, but I'm sure that this review will be very helpful: 1. MATJAN apartments are located in the very center of the city, by the coast of the lake, but still at a quiet area. As we can see from the city map nearby apartments MATJAN there is not main streets or bus station. Actually the bus station is about 2000 meters far from the apartments. Therefore in this area are located some of the best hotels in Ohrid! 2. Yes, there is private apartments in Ohrid with 4 stars. MATJAN apartments are categorized by 4 stars by a authorized authorities. That can be clearly seen on the blue table with 4 stars on it at the front door of the apartments.

My wife and I did a 2 week tour of Macedonia. We spent 8 nights in Ohrid we will never forget thanks to Matjan. You cannot go wrong with this choice! They had a family room which is difficult to find anywhere in Europe. I love to travel, but hate hotels and am hard to please, so I would definately recommend this apartments for anyone headed to Ohrid.

The house is located in the urban zone, near the public parking place. There are too many cars and busses around, bank office, travel agencies, caffees... Huge mistake!

Private villa located in the centre of Ohrid only a few steps from the lake! We booked apartment No.1 6 months before our coming and we didn't what to excpect. But just when we entered our apartment we were adored! One big and really, really beautifull living room, big kitchen with everything you need and big bedroom. In each room there is own bathroom!!! Also in each room there is own cable TV, own air conditioner, mini fridge and central heating. There is also one big balcony with beautifull view! The balcony is all in flowers! We stayed at balcony to drink our morning caffee, and late at night, watching the lake and the tourists. Higyene at the best level. Everyday maid was caming and cleaning our apartment which is something very rare in private accommodation. And the price, not very cheap, but far from the expencieve hotels. Worth every cent!

I don't like it at all!!! First of all there is no private accommodation in Macedonia with 4 stars. Then it is not true that it is quite and peacefull. Bus parking, cars on the main street, 3 clubs near by... It is just too loud!

I have stayed at this apartments on many occasions with my family, and so I can say with experience that it is a very sophisticated and classic apartments. lovely and friendly owners, very helpful people. The last time I was there it was for Christmas 2007, and the whole building was shining at nifht. It looked so magigal! It is definitely amongst the top of all the accommodations I have stayed in, I highly recommend it!
