My friend and I stayed in Taos for a few days around the first of the month . We had been in Taos two summers ago and stayed at this hotel and it was what you might call a good mid level hotel. This last stay was awful!! This place has gone so far down hill !! It was dirty. The front desk clerks seemed like they were in high school and very inexperienced. No responsible adult around it seemed. we happened to come into town on a weekend that there was some sort of festival at the Taos Pueblo as well as an art show in the park downtown. we got the last room they had for the night and at first felt glad to get it untilm we saw it!! It was upstairs wich were unlit. I had to call the front desk at least three times in our two night stay to tell them that the walkway and stairs were dark and unsafe !!! It seemed that every room on the backside of the hotel where we were was filled with folks that were only interested in drinking and smoking pot.I was very disappointed. I don't know if it is now but the Inn has been owned by people from Texas so we have always wanted to do business with them as we are too,but next time I'll stay somewhere else for sure!
