Oasis Cancun All-Inclusive, Zona Hotelera

We booked our trip thru Apple Vacations and this was suppose to be a 4 apple hotel. I would consider this to be a 2 at the most. They charge you $3.50 a day for the safe and there is no mini bar. They give you 1 bottle of water free and then they charge you. The food was absolutely terrible and it was very hot in the buffet areas. We were suppose to be able to use the Grand Oasis but it was closed. The one bar in the hotel closed at midnight and I wouldn't even call it a bar. The pool is over by the Grand Oasis so it was a hike over to it and the beach was all rock.There is nothing to do around the hotel. We paid a fee to upgrade to the Riu Cancun which was fabulous. I wouldn't stay at the Oasis Cancun if it was free.

Hotel lobby, & places to eat all was extremely warm, they could use ceiling fans. Rooms needs lots of work. Smell is hard to get use to. If you are going planning on sleeping at night forget it, drunk kids running, and screaming till 5 in the morning. You also can not get any American money there, they only give you back mexician money. Food was great. Cheapest place to get gifts is at the airport. If I was to go back I would want something closer to downtown and on the beach.

just got back from this place you have to watch there it hiden fees for the safty lock box and they have a fee if you are under 25 and will not let you go to any other sister hotels food was ok had to keep asking for bath towels every day I will not go back to this hotel

After reading the reviews I was a little dissapointed that I had booked this place but found it a great place to stay. I found (just like ever other place in Mexico) if you pass a few dollars to the people who bring you drinks the come fast and strong, by the end of the week we had a server who remebered our names and what we liked to start the day off with. The room was a little damp but every place I have ever been to in Mexico is about like that. If you can relax and have a good time and not be a stuck up tightwad and cant spare atleast 10.00 a day in tips then this isnt the place for you.

The reviews I have read on line have not been recent. We were there Jan.09, obviously the service has gone Downhill. I agree the pool, beach & grounds are beautiful. HOWEVER, the hotel staff were Slow and Uncaring, toilets leak, windows leak, towels, well one had to beg for or help yourself from the storage room. Check in's take no less than 1 1/2 hours, and you have to buy a bottled water for 2.00US while you wait (in a All-Inclusive Hotel???) And Sunwing was worse, they have no caompassion for where they sent you, they should check, and not state it is a 4****. Flying Sunwing is also a nightmare, not one of their flights are on time. Fly with any travel company who uses WestJet, but NOT Sunwing!!!!!

I read all the reviews before we went and was skeptical. Got there, and had a great time. Room was clean, staff very friendly, food and drinks very good. Only drawback was the Mexican restuarant, food wasn;t good.

It is obvious that this place is good for kids getting drunk. If you are are young and single and don't care about service, leaking tiolets,broken AC, food quality than this is your resort. If your a family, honeymooners, or older than 25 stay elsewhere!

OK, this was our first trip to Cancun and now we know why this resort was so affordable! There is NO WAY that this is a 4 star restort. It doesn't help that we caught the spring break crowd, our fault that we assumed spring break would be over. We had taken a red-eye so by the time we were checking in we had been up for close to 30 hours. Had to wait in line, in a non-air conditioned lobby for over 45 minutes to get checked in. We were told at the desk that we could upgrade to the Grand Oasis for $50 per night, but we just wanted a room so bad that we said no thanks. (after reading reviews on that side of the resort, don't know if it would have been any better) Then we got hit by the concierge! We were so tired that when they pitched the breakfast and "90 minute" tour the next morning we just said fine. Room was ok, nothing special. I've definitely seen worse, but also stayed in much better! Decor is sparse, but who cares. Instead of a king, it was two doubles pushed together. Again, no big deal. No mini-fridge, found out that cost extra (did order that on day 3 and it took over 24 hours for the thing to get cold...). Went to the aforementioned breakfast the next morning only to be pitched the "vacation ownership". These people are sharks! They really won't take no for an answer! By the third guy they sent over I ended up being down right rude and just getting up and walking out. Got $100 off any tour we wanted, only to find out when booking that they converted that to pesos so you don't really get the full $100. Food was ok, found out that what we were told wasn't what we got. Had been told by travel agent that we could use all stuff at Grand Oasis, got there and they told us no. Asked for housekeeping to bring laundry slips so we could have laundry done, that never happened. Elevators were a 50/50 chance on if they worked or not. We were on the 5th floor and had to cart our suitcases down to the lobby for checkout. Can't wait on bellhops because no one was in a hurry there. On the good points, the beach is beautiful, the pools are nice and the alcohol was flowing! All in all, really enjoyed Cancun, just won't stay at this resort again.

from the time we got there it was a great time . the people and staff were friendly and helpful. the place was spotless the food was good ,and the drinks did'nt seem to stop.we will be going back forsure.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel Feb 2-9/08. We were very concerned about this hotel because of what we read on-line. Much to our surprise we had the best time. The staff was great, the food was good (so many restaurants to choose from)the rooms were clean. We had a great time! The pool and beach were the best! I would really recommend this hotel.
