Pudi Boutique Hotel, Shanghai

Laid back luxury is the theme of the Pudi Boutique hotel, so laid back it was a little hard to find, no flashing neon signs here. The room was very large for an Asian hotel, complete with a small bar/kitchen are and large bathroom with a huge bath and walk in shower. Everything gave the impression of luxury, from the twin copper sinks in the bathroom to the high quality desk chair and the TV unit which doubled as the drinks display. The level of service was very good throughout, maybe a little too attentive at times but only occasionally. The bar/restaurant on the top floor served good quality food through the day and it was a shame the bar was so deserted at night. In fact it felt quite empty all the time but this added a little to the feel of exclusivity. The hotel is very new, it only opened a few months before I went and this may be the reason for the low price I paid. I just hope the prices stay so low for such a good place.
