Florida Bay Club, Key Largo

This was our first stay at the Florida Bay Club and it was so nice we bought a week! The units are mostly updated with work going on as we stayed there on the couple that needed it. Management seems VERY nice and is willing to accomodate you with all you need, even fishing poles that can be used on the long boardwalk to fish in the cut where many varieties of fish pass every day. The cut goes to Blackwater Sound and through Largo Sound passing the Pennecamp Park docks and into the Ocean where you can get to the reefs and beyond with easy access. Boat dockage and trailer parking onsite with a ramp for a fee that covers 1 in and out about a mile North at the Carribean Club makes this a boaters dream. 3 story condo style apartments with a garage on the first, living room and kitchen on the 2nd and bedrooms on the 3rd. Very clean with only slight issues as in ours the back of the sink was caulked in to repair some water damage but again, the entire condo was extremely clean with new tile and paint. Also the microwave didn't work well and after reporting it they were willing to bring a new one in though it was to the end of our stay and we didn't want the disruption. The neighbors had a bad freezer and the next day the staff was lugging a new fridge up the stairs so this indicates they really care about their FBC people. The pool area and clubhouse is spotless though some cracks around the pool but nothing unsightly. I wish we could live there full time!

My family and I have been members at FBC since 1986 -- this is the only place we travel to without flying, as it's close to home (two counties away). We used to rent a boat on the premises for the day (I guess that was abused & ended) While it used to be a dream place for me during my high school and college years, it has since has needed a major remodeling job. In spite of this, it's still our home away from home, plus there's internet (I hope it's still there this year!!!). With the amount of maintenance we pay on this timeshare, they should furnish the townhomes with BETTER TVs. We can hardly see the screen from where the couches are!!! The facility has a little work-out room which leaves a lot to be desired!!! No thanks! Never mind. The location is great (not too far south in the keys) - wish there were more to do (aside from the usual fishing, pool, and snorkeling -- which I don't do). Great place if you have a boat!! Once you're in the keys you feel like you've entered another world -- relaxation mode. We bring our bikes and ride around the cool neighborhoods - lil' shops, even discovered dolphins in training... The pool area is nice & clean - so relax & watch the boats go by :)

Very pleasant get-away.Needs desperately to be refurbished, but still a great place, just not fancy.

We go every year in April and love it. From the location to the rooms its great. Pool area is kept clean and pool is very clean. My kids love it and cant wait to go again and again. Highly recommended.

The units need to be updated but the location is great. The staff can be abrasive but they are OK. A make over would be nice. We go there every year and have a great time.

I love the Bay Club. My family has been goign there twice a year for over 20 years. It is located in a great spot if you like to go out boating or fishing. The 'hotel' is more a house with a full kitchen and 2-3 bedrooms 2.5 bath. Its a great place to get away! Whenever you are going to Key Largo look up the Bay Club. talk to Jim though!
