Staybridge Suites Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo

We recently stayed at Staybridge in Kalamazoo with a group for a ski weekend. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast made our mornings run smoothly! The location was great too; restraunts across the paking lot and a grocery store next door were ultra convenient! It was a short, easy drive to the ski resort making the commute effortless. I would recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had a wedding to go to in Kalamazoo and this hotel was on the couple's suggested list of places to stay. So I called in a reservation, gave them our credit card information and got a confirmation number in return. Well, when we got there, we were told that our confirmation number was not valid and were questioned as to whether we were sure we had made a reservation. We did not appreciate that, especially given the fact that the bride and groom had left gift bags for their guests at the front desk, and ours was among them, so obviously someone had confirmed that we indeed had a reservation. However, the staff did not seem to consider this significant enough to investigate further and we had to go elsewhere. Staybridge had no problem, however, charging our credit card as a no-show. When I called the hotel the following week to have the charges reversed (which they were), I was given a mildly apologetic "oh, what an inconvenience." While we realize that mistakes happen, we certainly did not appreciate the staff's lack of professionalism and responsibility, nor the overall attitude while we were trying to check in. We will definitely never make a reservation here again.
