Absolutely Awful
By Placido, 1/22/12
We had reservations for 7 PM. At 5 after 7 we were told our table was being cleaned off and it would take 7 more minutes at the most. At about 7:20 couples that did not have reservations started coming in and getting seated ahead of our family. Finally around 7:30 we were seated. It took forever for the food to finally come and when it did my dad's fish was cold. My ravioli and mom's chicken were very forgettable. The dining room is very dark and cramped. Every time somone stands up they bump chairs with the person sitting behind them. When we voiced our displeasure all they did was offer a gift certificate so we would have to come back again. If you are thinking of coming to this place save yourself the 3 hours and don't. It was my birthday and in hind site I would have rather had greasy fast food from a drive though. DO NOT GO TO THE FIRELINE HOTEL.

3rd week in a row.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/12/11
First visit (ever) with just immediate family, second with mother in law, and this Friday with friends. I like the decor (it's kind of festive and seasonal), the servers know their stuff and are friendly. I just moved back to the area after 20 years in New York & Jersey and I will put this place top to bottom against just about any restaurant. The food is big portioned and very flavorful. You can tell Ken the owner is passionate about what he does and he does it well. And the selection is like a Diner for God's sake. It will take a year to get through everything I want to try. And the location is great. It's a nice drive and the out of the way places are often the best to find. If you make a wrong turn you just might see some of the best views of the blue ridge mountains.

Wow !!! I guess the owners paid for their good reviews What are you all talking about? The menu is very pricey and the food was marginal at best. Bathroom was filthy. Never again!!

Simply fun - great food & conservation!
By Sean W, 1/8/10
We rarely come off the mountain on a Friday night but this stop was well worth it ... food was very good and service was excellent. Drinks were ok ... the owner (Ken) spoiled us rotten with attention and good conversation. Prime rib, steaks, fish soup and simple but big salad - we ate until we hurt ... give the Fireline Hotel a shot!

STOP FOR A REAL TREAT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/18/09
We have been there 3 times this month-you really need reservations-Eat in Bar area with two small dining rooms. Excellent waitress staff and the food is scumptious- everything made fresh-chicken dishes are excellent, steaks are tender, clam appetizers delicious-main dishes served on platter, soups are wonderful, Italian dishes are excellent also. Choice of salad or cup of soup with meal-I usually get the soup because salads are large. Blackend Salmon was recommended by a friend as delicious. Large variety of dinners to choose from and the desserts, save room because they are very tasty. This is an old historic hotel, close to 248 & turnpike, worth the stop because it will become one of your favorites-everything seasoned just right. Anyone who doesn't like the food at the Fireline should have their taste buds checked. Lynda Buchfeller

A must stop for everyone
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/09
Off the main path but well worth it. Food is excellent and Kenny is such a great host. We always make it a stop when we are in the area.
