Awsome, but out of the way
Teh wife and I stayed here in 06/06, and it was a great place. It pretty much in central to everywhere, but there in lies it's minor downfall. It about a hour from anchorage, 3 hours from Denali, several hours from Valdez (didn't go there so I don't know exactly), 3+ hours from Seward . . . But then again the scenery makes the drive worth it, plus the amenities were great for a very low price.
The hotel looks to be relatively new (2 years or less) and it had a dvd player, full premimum cable line up, full kitchen (apartment size stove/oven, full size refrig., microwave, plates dishes, utensiles . . . the works). Everything was clean and operated great. Only thing that was amiss was the smoke detector was ripped off the ceiling, propably by a smoker since the hotel will charge you $100 if it is found out that the occupants smoked in the rooms. This was fine with us since we don't smoke and it helps to keep the smoke residual smelly stuff out of the furniture.
So for $79 a night the minor inconvenience of driving to anchorage for 50 minutes or so it was worth it. Plus the Wasilla area has plenty of shopping, food stores and scenery to see itself.
So in closing I would have to give it a triple thumbs up (if i had an 3rd hand). Definately a much stay if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg to stay in this wonderful state.
