Pecos River RV Park & Store, Carlsbad

We come back to this park a couple of times a year. The owners are very friendly and we love that they are located in the middle of town and right on the river. They are located right on HWY 62/180 which means you have some traffic noise but the surrounding more than make up for it. We will go back again...by the way the river spots are the best!

If it were not for it's cleanliness and the absolutely GREAT hosts, this park would not even get a single star. The location is terrible - there is a busy street right ajacent, lots of heavy traffic and truck noise and runmbling - you might as well park on a Freeway. Across the river is as train swtiching yard, the Diesels running and rumbeling at 6AM. Virtually no amenities other than a table. Highly overpriced for what was delivered. Spaces are very small, only about 8-12 feet between coaches. I don't know where the other reviewers have been camping - we stay about 30 nights a year at various state parks, and this park does not come close to any of the public campgrounds we have been staying at.

The park is on the right on the Pecos river and is very nice. The hosts live on site and are very helpful with anything you may need. The store is convenient and all items are very low priced. I would recommend this place and I plan to go back. Only drawback is the highway noise but the owner is working to erect some kind of wall to lower the noise.

The owners are friendly and very helpful, especially to "newbies" like us! The park is right on the river - you can walk to "Christmas on the Pecos" and also to the popular restaurant, the Court Cafe. It only takes 45 minutes to get to Carlsbad Cavern. The shower is very clean and large. There are pull-through sites and also ones that back up onto the river front. Route 180/62 is kind of noisy, but the further into the park you are, the quieter it gets. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Carlsbad.
