Description

This historic, Greek Revival, pre-Civil War estate features a dining room with pocket doors, a sunroom with the original marble floors, a parlor, library, large porch with a swing, English gardens, and a gazebo. Four elegant guest rooms are offered, complete with antiques, canopy beds with fine linens, and private baths with whirlpool tubs, complimentary bath salts, candlelight, wine and chocolates. This B & B received Galena's highest Historic Preservation Award in 2006.

great weekend

Beautiful home, great food. the owners were very gracious and actually served us! Don't know what the other reviewer was talking about; we were there with people with very diverse backgrounds. The Meyers are definitely NOT bigots--unless the people in questions came with children. This is not the place to bring children--it is not designed for that. Great for couples looking for a romantic get-away or singles looking for some R & R. If you have kids, go to the country Inn--not a B & B! We have booked again for October!

Great place, nice owners!

My husband booked us a romantic weekend for our anniversary. I was pleasantly surprised. The owner is very gracious. She obviously put alot of work into her home. Great breakfast too! We will be back!

I should have listen to (Stay Away)

Only one word the owner is a (bigot) She cashed my check but my family and I were not good enough to stay in her grand home. I have no desire to ever to back to galena to give them our hard earned money.
