Harris House, Ocean City

This was a very terrible family vacation, from the time we walked into the office to the end....woman in office was rude as can be, and then our second night there our toilet backed up, and then again the next morning, didnt work all day and all that night, had to walk my children at 10:30 at night down a dark cooridor to use the outside bathroom. Terrilbe, my children were scared. Toilet again next day backed up, it was a terrible time, when mentioned to the "rude" woman at office, she stared at my like I was an alien....NEVER go there, they make u park in front of ur room, so when ur sitting outside and a car starts look out, total exhaust in ur face, and the dirty pool is smack in the middle of the parking lot, really, spend the time and money at another place.....

Booked the weekend on a whim; and was expecting a "last minute" type of room and experience. On the contrary, it was clean, location was great, and value was unexpected. Will definately consider this place next time I get the urge to "get away". Thanks Harris House; good time was had....

My sister and I, we both stayed here for five nights and it was the first time we ever stood here and it was great. The location was perfect right at the boardwalk, great for the shopping. The room was very clean, housekeeping did an excellent job and they were very friendly as well. We enjoyed the pool very much the water was perfect. It was peaceful so if you wanted to stay in it was perfect, no disturbance just quiet. We truly enjoyed our time here and next year my sister and I we are planning to go back again

Called for a reservation 2 days before we went, and were able to get the 3 nights we wanted (Thurs-Sat). First time at this motel, but have been to O.C. a half dozen times -- only complaint was the wireless internet access was too weak in our room -- had to go to the lobby to use internet. But our room was farthest from the lobby, and closest to the beach, so it's understandable. But the motel location was great -- less than a block from the boardwalk and beach, and across the street from bike rentals. The room was clean and not damp like some hotels near the water. The air conditioner worked well and was not too noisy. The room had a refrigerator and TV, but no coffee maker or microwave (which would have been nice) -- morning coffee was provided in the lobby. 2 free beach passes were included with the room -- you need to return them when checking out or get charged for them. We asked for extra towels and pillows, and they were delivered to our room almost immediately. All in all, we were quite satisfied, and would go back to Harris House another time.

Great value before July 4th. Great location to the boardwalk and beach. Nice pool. Rooms are typical rooms that you'd get in a Motel 6, Holiday Inn, any budget hotel/motel, but are fine for a few days. Don't expect too many, if any, smiles or thank you's from the front desk staff. I went into the front area a few times and the staff seemed to look right through you instead of at you. I personally don't think they're very happy or have any sense of the big picture that while they may have to be there every day for hours on end, the customer may get there once a year if they're lucky and that when you're shelling out $1000 a week to stay at their property, a smile and thank you would certainly be appropriate. The front desk staff left me with a bad impression of the property each time that I had to call on them. I give the property, location, value, and cleanliness, 4 seashells out of five and the front desk staff 1 seashell out of five. Because of the front desk staff, my overall review goes from good to average.

Just got back on Sun. 8-3-08. This was our families 1st time in Ocean city NJ. I couldn't be happier. The Harris House was great! The room was clean and the best part was the large (warm) pool. Can't wait to go back there next year.
