To the Yahoo! Contributor, the assistant manager's name is JEFF NOT Joe. Yes, my husband and I have lived here since July 2010 so that makes it 4 months here now, and we're hoping not to make it 5, so are looking to relocate somewhere else and may be doing so with a couple friends we made here that are nice people. I will say that I have noticed that Sue likes to play favorites with those that are staying here and I have also seen where Jeff has somewhat of an attitude and a smart mouth on him as well. You just have to know how to deal with them is all. I have noticed that Sue will be notified that something needs to be fixed or replaced or that strange noises are heard around somebody's trailer/RV and she will either blow off the request or claim that "it's the raccoons". I don't buy the raccoon story, because I have not once seen a raccoon have the ability to sound like an adult male human being. It's because of this that my husbands, friends, and I want to relocate as soon as we possibly can. You are right, very young children should NOT be here, but with this economy, many families are unable to afford better than this place. I think new management and assistant management should be brought in to clean up this place, and if I knew how to contact the owner of this property, I would do so right away and notify him of this.
Just as Tiffiny said. "Don't waste your time". If you have young children with you, you should stay at another place. This place is a trailer park with a couple of empty spots that are rented for people who are looking to camp. This place looked like a theme park for all the local trouble makers. There are cars on blocks it even had one car that was rolled over and at one point had been burned. (Maybe thats the nightly campfire). This is no place for children. We pulled in at 9am to see people already getting drunk and fighting. Don't waste your time with Sue or her side-kick Joe unless you just want a laugh or a reminder of how good your life is. Anyrate each to their own, this place shouldn't be listed as a camp ground. Don't trust me, contact the Auora police and ask them if you should take children there.
Sure its a Trailer/RV Park/Campgrounds set up. But as to wereever you go there are issues. As we all know in this way of life there are many kinds of people and all walks of life and ways some do not agree with. In which case makes others put there tail between there legs and head for the hills as Tiffany did. Sure there are people walking around with a beer having a campfire party. Its not bible camp. But hidding and peeking around your trailer and not giving the old retired man with a beer a chance to say hi or invite you to the fire or ask if you need a hand with anything and than posting about it is wrong. We all can't stay at the Hilton or a $60 a night KOA or have a 40 foot motor home.
I have been here 4-5 months now and if ever i have a problem there are people willing to give you a helping hand an expect nothing in return, Heck just sit and have a drink or have them over for burger. Its called giving people a chance get to know them. You don't even have to know them its just being polite and sending an invite.
The manager Sue always has a good laugh for ya and always has a helping hand. Very enjoyable and out going.
Its well worth paying a visit to.
Good things-- the open campsites are right on the water and the woman, Susan, who runs the place is absolutely amazing and should use her talents elsewhere.
Bad things-- IT'S A TRAILER PARK! A trailer park with tiny travel trailers up on blocks and various older beer drinking, hairy men that wander around and are either mumbling to themselves or oogle you as you stand next to your trailer.
Definitely not a place to bring your children. We were too creeped out to even make a campfire at night. We booked another place (KOA at Warrenton, which by the way, kicked some serious butt -- it was so cool) first thing in the morning and high tailed it out of there!!
