Could have been better

As avid backpackers, hikers, tent campers, we found Koke'e State Park and Waimea Canyon breathtaking. Unfortumately our stay at the Kokee Lodge cabins was very uncomfortable. Our cabin was poorly maintained, grimy and the shower was a crumbling mass of shards of fiberglass that drained so poorly we were left standing in swirling sediment of questionable cleanliness and unknown source. It's a shame since there is excellent road access and upkeep should not be hard. After a long day of hiking, the only pluses were clean sheets, refrigeration and indoor toilet.
With the price increase, your money would be much better spent at an inn or B&B in Waimea and doing daytrips up the canyon.
