Budget Suites of America, The Colony

Just like any hotel or motel, there's good and not so good aspects!!! We stayed as a transitional place to live while we saved money for a house. There are good and shady characters at any hotel,motel or public place for that matter. It has an AWESOME pool and hot tub my kids loved!! It is very close to nearby places in the COLONY, even walking distance to 7-11 and Walgreens. The Landry facilities were clean, with plenty of new appliances and they use a card system, instead of having to get several dollars in quarters for much cheaper than other hotels and Laundromats! They also have security walking the area 24 hours a day! Which made us feel very safe. The hotel staff were all very, very friendly, polite and professional. The rooms are a little pricier than what i would prefer because a two bedroom is about $1,200.00 a month and you pay more for liens , microwave, up grade to a flat screen and kitchen items. BUT THAT INCLUDES EVERYTHING: ELECTRICITY, TRASH, WATER, GAS, CABLE, FURNITURE, FREE WI-FI, FREE COMPUTERS IN THE OFFICE, FREE USE OF A VACUUM CLEANER AND THERE IS NO DEPOSIT, APPLICATION FEES, CREDIT CHECKS, OR PAYING FOR A FULL MONTH WITH DESPOSIT WHEN YOU STAY HERE!!! It's great for those in transition or awaiting a home or rental place to be ready!! You can pay by the week! Which worked great for us!!! We liked it, granted it's not the Hilton but a decent place with much more convient positive aspects than negative aspects for sure!!!

I paid around $850/mo for a 1BR. That included great cable, free wi-fi access in my room and all utilities without a lease. The office people were okay depending on who was working, what time of the day it was and their mood... After I cleaned out the trash and beer bottles left under the bed and sofa, fumigated the room, sofa and mattress, washed the walls and cleaned the carpets, I found the room to be okay. I didn't care for the rotting cabinet doors in the bathroom or the holes in the carpet or the sound of the a/c when it was turned on high, but there was instant hot water and lots of it for a shower. There was a very strong hotel smell in my room which was not at all pleasant and despite all the cleaning, air fresheners and candles, I couldn't get rid of it. My clothes smelled awful. All in all, for the money, you can't beat it - especially without a lease. With a little bit of upgrading, this could be a beautiful place.

I live near this facility, and Wow! I can't believe these stories... What a nightmare it must have been for these people! Our apt. rent is cheaper than $1100 a mo. I would have liked to read more positive reviews.. I have a friend who lives there, and she and her husband really like it there.

I didn't like their prices. 1019.00 for a month is too much for a one star hotel. they need to get their act together before charging that much.
