Tallwood Motel Wells, Wells

We had a very negative experience at the Tall Wood motel in August 2011. The room we were staying in was so smoke-filled that we had to sleep in the car overnight. Six months later, after repeated phone calls and letters to the owner (Adeel Shaikh), nothing has been done to address what happened. We would certainly never stay in this motel again, or recommend it to others.

We were here over the Fourth of July weekend and we were booked for two nights. The first night we were unable to sleep because the bed was crawling with Bedbugs. In the morning after not sleeping I told the manager and said to him that we would not be staying the second night. He told us that his motel did not have bedbugs and the cancellation policy would have to be adhered to. I told him he was a very bad business manager and that although I was willing to pay for the night we stayed I refused to pay for the second night and that we would never stay in his motel again. I believe that a paying guest is entitled to expect to be able to get a good nights sleep in a room without bedbugs.

We stayed there for a weekend, we had a good time, to busy to worry about the Service. Couldn`t get a Place at the Garrison Suites, they were booked solid. The Tall was conveinient, reasonable, more money to spend on Lobsta !!! The only thing was the toilet was running all the time, and the Bikers 3 rooms downs. Those things are to noisy at 6:30 am. No Respect for other people !

Okay, my husband and I were looking to get a way for 4 days and 3 nights and found this motel online for a great price. Well, you get what you pay for. The room was very small and stunk. The headboard broke the first night so we fixed it for them and while doing that the footings on the bed broke and the bed almost fell apart. All night long the Downeaster (Amtrak) was going by across the road laying on its horn. Spiders everywhere. Shower never got cleaned, tray that the ice bucket sits on never got wiped down and the remote to the TV hardly worked. Oh yeah we had mosquitos because the AC Unit had a big hole that we tried stuffing a sweatshirt in to cover it. We came back late Sunday night (our last night) and spent about an hour trying to kill ants in the bathroom. This place is so gross and disgusting that I will never ever stay there again.

We have stayed at this motel 9 times over the period of 15 years and find the service and lodging better than most . The bonus with this place is that they got a large pool and clean rooms for less money. The room we slept in #34 was clean, roomy and comfortable. The whole building had just undergone a renovation 3 years back or so. Everything is well maintained and clean. The staff at the front desk and the owners are very helpful and pleasant. You can't please everyone in life but people at Tallwood do try hard. We will certainly return this summer with our 14 year old son who loves the game room.

I have never stayed at a place as bad as the Tallwood. Not only are the rooms extremely small and dingy, they are in dire need of an update. To top things off, the owner is a rude and angry man. There was absolutely no customer service. Everything is "your problem." There's so many other places to go in the area-- DO NOT STAY AT THE TALLWOOD MOTEL!!!
