Favorite since the year they opened!
I've bee a patron since they open, 'bout 30 years ago. Spend almost every Memorial day there. Not for RV's though. A few spots for small campers, lots of tent sites, and a few 'rustic' cabins('but 10x10, a light, mat on the floor) . Real primative, 'till it rains, then the hight of high living! Wonderfull acre or so pond, nice clean bath house, trail to the waterfall and top of mountain, good value firewood, and best of all...
The dry sauna near the pond. Many memorable nights. Cold Mem day, warm nite, meat thermometer inna rafter says 'pork well done' about 180 degrees! Then a dip in the frigid pond, fed by West Branch of the Green River. The pond has john boat (free) and paddle boat (cheap). Playground for wee folk w/swings merry go round, and a little kiddee trolley.
All made by Andre, like everything on the property. Don't miss the spring by the playground, great water. Camp store too, handy since it's about 20 minute round trip anywhere.
Handy to Williamstown, NorthAdams, southern Vermont, even Tanglewood, if your on a budget. Made for people w/kids or on a budget, tent campers. not 200K RV's. Over 400 acres, so wood if you wanna work. And oh, did say about the red light and sprayer at the entrance? You gotta see... Sorry too late meet Bridgit, but you can see her memorial the entrance. Too much to mention, but so many wonderful memories :-)
Say hi to Andre for me, but stay off site 33 on Memorial day! Got a kid in Iraq looking forward to it! Tell him Dave& family say HI !
