North Star Motel, Shelburne

I really liked the staff and the very clean rooms. I highly recommend this motel.

I stayed at the North Star for 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is not more than a bunch of donuts and muffins, probably bought at the grocery store, served on a table next to the reception. The girl and the guy who was working there were great. I only had a problem with the manager who charged me an extra night after i left. They still didn't pay me back. If i go back there, i won't use my credit card.

After reading the other posts on this review site, I am completely appalled by the service I received from these people. I had made a reservation and had to cancel. The day manger and owner swore at me over the phone as I tried to cancel, absurd. Apparently it is a busy weekend up there. They told me that there was over ten thousand other people that wanted that room. I suggested that they rent the room to them. They told me they would but that I still had to pay for the room. I had booked the room over the phone and they had mentioned nothing about a no cancellation allowed policy. Legitimate businesses allow for timely cancellations, which this clearly was. Not only did they charge me for that night, they charged me for the next night as well. When I called to dispute it, the day manager only argued with me about taking the issue up with the company that had sent me to Shelburne and recommended this hotel and make them pay for it. She gave me a cock and bull story about her needing the money because her child has cancer. Although sad, it is no responsibility of mine to be financially responsible for this child. After repeated phone calls, the management and owner continually hang up on me as I try to rectify the situation. It would be my strong advise to avoid these white trash biker chicks like the plague and protect your money and credit card from these unscoupulous business people. After travelling the world, I have never been treated like this nor have I been subjected to such abuse as a customer. BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!!

if u want great service with a smile then i would recommend this motel to anyone. the staff is great they helped me out when ever i needed it and i stayed there for a couple months and the stay with the price was incredible.

I will alway return to the NorthStar when ever i need to stay in the greater Burlington area the staff went out of their way to make my stay comfy and for the price of gas i need to save every bit of money i can but i also need to feel safe and it has to be clean and clean it was!! I can only say Thank you to everyone there and let them know i will be returning more often now that i can afford great servise! 5 stars for 2 star prices for real!!!!!!!

Upon entry into the room there was an overpowering smell of bleach. The chair in the room had riped upholstery and the carpet had burn marks. When we complained, we were told there was nothing they could do about it. The next morning when we woke, we found ants all over the bedside table. When checking the room for anything left behind we found the bedspread had a large stain on the underside. This place was absolutely awful and they tried to cover uncleanliness with the smell of bleach.

I am a computer networker who has been staying at the north star motel for about 3 months. The employees are very kind and the cleanliness of the rooms is outstanding. If you want some bang for your buck then you should stay at the north star motel. I haven't met a single customer who isn't satisfied and I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I have stayed at this motel for a long time and feel that it provides the best value in Burlington. Why pay for a pool, Jacuzzi, weight room, etc., when you may not want these extras? On the other hand, you get free wireless internet (Wireless G system, up to 54 MB per second, fast and reliable), which I use all the time. If you want a good, nice place to stay that is affordable and comfortable, this place should be your first pick. The owner is a wonderful person and will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. The motel is only a couple of miles from the I-89 and I-189 interchange and has lots of places to visit and shop nearby. The Vermont Teddy Bear factory and the Shelburne Museum are just a couple of miles away on Route 7 South. The University Mall is just a couple of miles away going north and Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc., are just off the first exit on I-89 South. I recommend the North Star Motel to everyone looking for a nice place to stay. It isn't going to cost you a fortune and you will get good value for your money.

I am in the IT industry and travel to IBM in Essex Junction, Vermont monthly. I used to stay at Motel 6 in Colchester until I discovered North Star Motel through word of the mouth. I am very satisfied with North Star Motel. You get the bang for your buck. It is a clean, comfortable and safe place for business travelers and families. Plus, you get free wireless internet. My husband and I recently took a month-long vacation in Burlington to visit his family in Stowe. We visited about 6 or 7 motels before we chose to stay at North Star Motel. It turned out to exceed our expectations for the price we paid. The manager was real friendly and was always attentive to our needs. The Motel staff made sure that our room/bed was always kepted neat and clean. My husband was always able to continue his work from the Motel by taking advantage of its FREE wireless internet. It's a catch for an expensive place like Burlington.
