Not as Good as it May Seem
Sadly, I need to lead off with the bad. For the record, my family spent three days and two nights here. The negative experiences my family and I had were significant. Firstly, this is not a tent friendly campground at all. The vast majority of the lots are occupied by RVs and campers. The lots have virtually no trees between them, and thus no real privacy. Second, the campground is full of people who obviously spend extended time there and thus are very familiar with each other and the staff. Though my family and I felt welcome at first, we were none the less treated with suspicion. Which leads me to my last point, that I experienced and witnessed very open hostility from both residences and staff. At one point I was screamed at by a group of residents for 'speeding' (I was going 2mph over the posted limit of 5mph on the downhill portion of the main camp road, which had a good buffer between it and campsites on both sides, right after I had to push my car over a large root-bulge in the road). What preceded this was a camp employee speeding up to my car on one of the golf carts they use to drive around the park (no doubt breaking the 5mph rule. I saw him do this frequently when making rounds around the park), nearly rear-end my car, and proceed to scream at the top of his lungs to threaten me with eviction. I saw the same man proceed to do a similar screaming act to a visitor's car that he thought had forgotten to check in. The unprofessional and hostile nature of this employee was shocking and nearly ruined the entire experience for my family and I. We felt that, as non-regulars, we were being treated with suspicion like we were some sort of outsider rabble and trouble makers. Mind you, we're in our late 20s and have a daughter that is only 5 years old; we do not fit the profile of rowdy young adults.
Still, there are good points to this campground. The campground is well maintained; the grounds are well manicured and attractive, the bathrooms and showers clean, and the play areas are also clean and safe for kids. There is many activities to keep kids and adults entertained. Rates are good, except for wifi access.
All in all, despite the quality of the campground's amenities and good price the cons far outweighed the pros. When a business lets its employees scream at customers openly and the regulars consider themselves above the visitors, it's never worth the money.
